This little guy is my first. He's one of the sweetest animals I've ever had, Thor.

My girlfriend has one named Loki, sadly after keeping them in a cage for months, they started fighting and Thor started barbering Loki so we had to get them separated and keep them separated.

These three are my current rats, from the left: Sufjan, Geoff and Conor. I got them as rescue rats, because the owner was planning on killing them himself :-/
But now they live with me, and seem pretty happy :3

These are the little bastards semi-recently, we don't let them see eachother much anymore after they really started fighting, unfortunately. I miss moments like this and I hate to see them lonely, but they have to be separated.

Funny story, we were trying to save a baby rabbit that was attacked by a neighbors cat, we wanted to get it to a nature center where they could help it heal, but it unfortunately died before we could get it anywhere. (******* not open on sundays), my girlfriend was so upset about the whole thing that we decided to get rodent pets, and here we are today. They're such great pets.

ive had rats before. i cleaned their enclosure every other day and gave them baths. the only thing they ever really smelled like was fresh hay.

I have male rat(s) (one died) and they used to smell because they peed everywhere to mark their territory but after they got neutered they became much more calmer and much less smellier.

Nah you can have a stroke too. Strokes are mostly caused by blockages in blood vessels in the brain, if you had a blockage and your blood pressure was unexpectedly raised it could cause you to stroke out

One time, when I was playing the Sims 2, my Sim got scared by a ghost on the lot and died from it. Needless to say that his wife saved his life from it.

Although that it's a game, it's pretty close to real life, except with all the fictional stuff and that they live significantly less than us.

I would have actually found that adorable if it was to happen to me.

Our basement shower basically has a small sort of pit next to it to let the steam out, where mice fall in occasionally ending up in the shower if they climb through the window (and only hope to escape the mini shower pit). Last time, 2 weeks ago, there was a sort of baby mouse and her mother in the corner of the shower. **** was cute I always put them in a small box and bring them outside

Rats are much smarter, and much sweeter than mice once they get to know you.

I've got two pet rats and they're just the sweetest little animals. You pet their heads and they turn around and start licking your fingers. I'd take rats over mice any day.

Guinea pigs make fantastic pets just like rats and Chinchillas do too. Guineas tend to be calmer and will just sit with you though you have to keep an eye on Chillas since they have no problem jumping off the couch/bed/dresser/etc and running away.

I have a rat, poor guy is pretty old, will turn 3 this November but he's well even after his buddy died (i would've got him a new friend but I was scared they would just kill each other.
As gabonicagracy said, guinea pigs are good pets too. My mother had a lot of them, they can get attached to you as well. Maybe they are not as smart as rats but they are lovable balls of fluff.
And ye. hamsters are retarded.
