If you don't remember the song :

Whenever I hear people say
that classical music is boring I
just want to remind them that
Tchaikovsky' s 1312 Overture
called for a cannon to be fired a
total of 16 times.

in my high school band, we once had a song that at one point required that the tubas play at 24 fortes. the band director kept bitching them out for not playing loud enough, so i decided to get some calculations all up in this bitch, and showed the band director that since each additional forte increases the intensity to the power of 10, 24 fortes would be the point at which sound would kill. and liquify. band director still made the tubas play louder.

nostalgic relevance

also i ****** up hardcore. i totally thought this particular calvin and hobbes was referring to "canons" in music, where one person sings/plays the song or verse or refrain from the beginning and another starts from the beginning a line later. ive read that comic 12+ times since childhood and i never once thought there were actual cannons

during a civil war reenactment we had to line up our cannons while a Band setup in period clothing and stuff played the whole song, we had to set the cannons off at the precise intervals. talk about hell. i stood there forever waiting for my part, we were 7th in line.

Mozart: Requiem I enjoy classical music. Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Sibelius and many more. I think it's not boring at all.
