This is unconfirmed, but apparently Steam isn't letting certain people who are complaining about the new monetized mods thing on the forums.

I'm too angry about all this **** to make coherent arguments, and it's too ******* early in the morning for this **** .

First, it was EA ******* my childhood in the ass, but that's what I expected from those bastards, but I never thought my lord and savior Gaben would take me from behind.

I'm just going to pray the lards prayer and hope this all goes away.

Our Gaben, who art in Bellevue
Rotund be thy shape
Thy Half-Life (never) come
Thy will be done on earth
As it is in Valve
Give us this day our daily vidya
And forgive us our pirating as we forgive those who pirate alongside us
May VAC lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from hacking
For thine kingdom is the Valve
The Steam, and the vidya
Forever and ever
Gaben

I've been getting that error and I haven't said anything up until this comment. So if it is them specifically banning, they're targetting random people which makes no sense.

Likely it's just a bug, calm down.

Like I said, it's not confirmed, and I haven't had experience myself, my friend has though, but I think it's important to point this out than let it go on, regardless of whether it's true or not.

I don't mean to be a dick or anything, but maybe it is time to get a new hobby. I used to love video games, they then became **** in my eyes and the old ones were only so entertaining, I thought I would never find something I enjoy as much as I did them, but after awhile I did. Many things in fact, now I spend a lot of time cooking, going on hikes around nature, and reading, love stories. Maybe it is time to find a new hobby, one that you have more personal control over, might make you less mad. Maybe

The thing is I don't like my hobby being ****** with. I have always loved video games. I spent countless hours playing them. I don't want anyone to ruin my hobby. Telling me to just stop playing them and to find a new hobby just doesn't sit well with me.

I am not telling anyone to do that, I am just saying that if for certain people, not all, it has become more trouble than fun, why not look for new interests?

There are many different types of gamers. There are some who will get mad at games, but they are typically the type who get mad at many things. What most people are mad about now is that they are trying to push charging people to use what has always been a free service. That infuriated many people. As for the games that cause more headaches than entertainment, I already avoid them. I don't play CoD or any game like it and I avoid EA games. A lot of other people don't play those kinds of games either. We avoid those games because they either don't appeal to us or frustrate us. As for Skyrim, I play with over 180 mods(most are small mods, but still over 180). Do I want to pay for them? Maybe. Can I afford to pay for them? Not very many, I'm poor.

I know you are not arguing about the pay part, but rather to find a new hobby. The thing is I don't want to find a new hobby because someone makes a step to ruin my fun. I'd rather try to help prevent it.

Aha, that makes sense. For me I just can't find any new games that I actually enjoy, which is why I stopped playing. I hear a lot of complaints about games, but maybe it is just as you say and that they don't like parts of it.

I stick to a lot of old games. My Steam library consists of many old games. I do enjoy the occasional new game.

I am bewildered on how stupid that statement is.

OH ITS MAKING YOU MAD

WELP BETTER QUIT AND ABANDON IT ALL THEN

If something you pay for and do in your free time does not give you joy, why on earth would you continue to do it?
User avatar #8 to #7 - peanutsaurusrex (04/25/2015) [-]
You say that like people buy videogames just to get pissed off

like
do you know the whole reason games exist
entertainment
yes things go bad sometimes
but not ****** all the time jeez
thats like breaking up with a girlfriend and never going for another because your relationships never work out till marriage

That is not what I meant at all, from what I have seen, and how I felt before stopping video games, is that people tend to get less joy from them than they do from other things. At that point it becomes a habitual thing to do, an addiction, something you do but do not enjoy. I was not talking to everyone, just to the people who seem to be at their wits end with gaming. If you enjoy gaming and its just little things then by all means keep playing and buying. I wrote my statement to the people who complain that all the new games are bad and they no longer enjoy it. There are a ton of fun things for people to do, all I am saying is if you do not enjoy games so much anymore give the other things a chance, perhaps you will find a hobby you enjoy more.

I see people bitch about games being **** non stop, all I am trying to say is if you do not enjoy doing it anymore and it makes you so angry, why continue to do it and give money to people who are making you so mad? To me that sounds stupid. I used to love games, like Jak and daxter and hellgate London, but games changed and no longer appealed to me, just like from most posts it seems to be not appealing to others. There is plenty to do in the world, why not find something you love and does not make you angry?
