Yeah! Celebrate being an ignorant cunt. School is so ******* terrible man. They stop you hanging out at the mall and playing video games and stuff. Who needs learning anyway.

Education is good, yes.
Overworking and overstressing your students is not good, no.

The reason kids don't like highschool isn't because you have to learn things -- it's because of the amount of stress they put on you over EVERYTHING. The environment in and of itself is stressful, because you have to "fit in" or you'll be bullied non-stop. Teachers give way too much homework, not even considering that the student has other classes. The lunches aren't nutritious; they don't give the energy kids need to help make it through the day. Everything adds up.
Please stop being an arrogant, ignorant **** and actually listen to what people have to say.
Note: This does not apply to all schools and all kids.

if you're overstressed and overworked at school you deserve to be lower down in the rankings compared to other kids, you need to be good at dealing with those things for any job

and whether or not your employers actually like you is the basis for a lot of jobs, they're not going to higher someone they think they wont get on with if they have to work with them, so getting bullied and not fitting in is another drawback unless you get lucky

and not sure if homework counts towards your final grade where you're from but it doesnt where im from so if you dont think it'll help don't do it, but if you think it will and decide not to do it you're also deciding to achieve less

Where you're from sounds like ************* heaven compared to when I was in highschool. If someone had announced that homework was optional and not graded over the PA system the cheering would have been audible from the next state.

Oh **** that. In highschool you learn *******, only thing higschools care about anymore are marks. They don't care what you've learned in all those years as long as you get nice grades on the final exams because that will earn them more money. Isn't their problem what happens to you after that

It's not that learning and knowledge is bad, it's how it is presented. Science is ******* awesome! Look at this site; how many posts have gotten to the front page just because it was science-y and how many characters do we love because of how smart they are. It is not hatred towards learning, it's hatred of how it's being taught. The educational system is ****. It's presenting the most interesting facts in the dullest way possible.

this is everything wrong in our world - people should not hate school nor should they be forced to learn - they should be gratefull for the opportunity to explore and improve the one thing they will always be with and can never lose - their mind. We need more ******* humanism in this world!

That's not how the brain works though. You really don't find many kids more interested in learning than in playing with their buddies or that sort of stuff. A lot of the early school stuff is boring, and that's just inevitable. And it''s alright, as long as we have proper parenting and parents that tell us to keep going, so we end up being educated anyway.

Schools just need to be more enthusiastic about things. I can enjoy a few poems but hate every single one I'm forced to analyze. I can enjoy learning about whatever but hate it all when I have to sit in a classroom and have the weak versions slowly taught to me. School just drains enthusiasm for things so that no student would ever think that learning could be fun

No matter how much people can recognize that its gr8 m8 would r8 it an 8 out of 8. School is still a painful process for a large majority of people.

The school system currently doesn't let you do **** until college. Highschool electives take a backseat anyways.

Your comment is terribly optimistic.

Personally, the grading system is what makes me hate school. Knowing constantly that one bad grade could **** up your entire GPA, which can keep you out of a good University puts a lot of pressure on me.

Because our society is developing into one that values and promotes being stupid. It's
"cool" to be ignorant and stupid and so that's what they do.

It's fairly easy to tell if someone cares about learning and understanding how the world works. I'm not just talking brilliant people here: Someone can give a damn and still be a mediocre student. Those people I have respect for. I don't respect the ones that have the capacity to learn but instead choose to be ignorant. The thought that someone actively chooses to live in ignorance just blows my mind.

I think it's the concept of being forced to study something you don't want, to get a realistic job you don't want either, for 1/2 of the time you spent awake a day, 5/7 days a week.

Also the entire idea of "making a living" suck.
Also the idea of a society suck. You know why? Because a society is basically a group so powerful, that you no choice but to join one.

Like if i wanted to live a self sustaning life as a huntergathered, i probably could, seeing as there iis plenty wildlife to sustain myself. The problem is, that every single forest in my country is private, so it'd be illegal to do so.

I think its a psychological thing. Because of the public education system, none of the kids are growing up wanting to go to school like in less fortunate countries, so it feels like a chore rather than a privilege.

A small anecdote for you. My mom quit school back in the 70s to get married...but her fiancee died in a car wreck from drinking (was a vietnam vet, and when he got back, he drank heavily). When she was in school, she didn't care. But when she went back to finish, she actually cared because she wanted to finish. She got straight As and worked her ass off to graduate....and ended up working the same dead end job she had when she quit with no pay increase after she graduated.

Someone just ******* has to play the "good guy" and pretend this guy just did something bad. This guy has probably went trough hundreds of pages of homework, of course he's relieved. He doesn't hate to learn or something, come on. You probably hated school too back in the day.
