For those that think I'm vote rigging*
Right now, there is nothing I want more than you liking my video as the feature was intended; because you
like** it.
If you read my old post you will see that that was what I was asking for in the first place.
What I've learned from being a part of this contest though is that they are anything but merciful (at least on Facebook). This is not a game about who made the best video anymore but a strategic race in getting the most likes. This makes me very despondent because I worked my ass of making the best video I possibly could, and right now I'm getting beaten by a guy who, in all modesty, didn't make a really good video. Only becuase he's strategic good at gaining likes. I don't want to win simply because I'll win a lot of money. I want to win because of people admiring my work. If I didn't stand a chance against my competitors I wouldn't have bothered you for even one single second. It's sounds so arrogant to me, as a person I'm very modest, but I actually do stand a chance. Everyone tells me. You tell me.
The reason why I want to donate the money is because I love FunnyJunk and I want to contribute in keeping it alive, and due to your amazing feedback from last time I want to give something in return. Right now I'm using it to get your attention, yes, that's right. And it feels wrong but only because of the fact that people on the internet tend to not care.
It was much against my morality writing that you didn't have to watch/actual admire my video in order to throw a like. I only wrote that because I simply don't want to bother you guys. BUT I can tell you, nothing makes me happier than you watching and appreciating my work, becuase this is my passion. This is my life.
Thanks for reading

Just to let everybody know, "#1" is not my position in the contest but a random number my video was given making it easier sharing/differentiate between the videos I guess. I understand why it's confusing. Right now #9 is in the lead

What I've done is not a secret for the crew behind the festival and contest. I do not believe it's cheating. The contest is called "Viral Video" and the festival explicitly encourage the contestants to "like og del amok" or "like and share like crazy". No where in the competition condition was written that this couldn't go beyond Facebook.
If FunnyJunk wasn't in economic troubles I wouldn't donate money and besides, it's something that eventually would happen after the contest and thus none of Smukfest's business. I know that I use it to create attention, but that's the only thing.
Remember, all the other contestants are under the same conditions as me, they are free to find ways of sharing it creatively as well

I dunno how to feel about this.

On the positive end, this helps FJ tremendously and your video is genuinely one of the best videos of the bunch, so it's not like I necassarrily wouldn't have voted for you.

On the negative end, this is pretty much rigging the voting to your advantage which is a pretty low road to take. Others might've done it too, but two wrongs doesn't make a right. There are (one) other video(s) that I honestly just as well could've voted because they were just as good (particularly "kom så Walther").

I've decided to vote for you anyway, because FJ needs the money. I don't particularly care if you win personaly, though I wish the best to you. The way I see it (from where I stand), if the contest-providers wanted no rigging, they should have put a fail-safe system in place instead of a system like this that can be taken advantage off. I don't really think what you're doing is the "right thing" to do though, and you're in the contest for the wrong reasons (though that's to a degree again the contest-provider's fault).

I kinda forgot an important point when I shared this. You can't really vote rig in this competition as getting attention is part of the competition itself. The contest is called "Viral Video" and the festival explicitly encourage the contestants to "like og del amok" or "like and share like crazy". No where in the competition condition was written that this couldn't go beyond Facebook. Basically it's just as much a stunt to make attention around the festival as it is a video contest.
If FunnyJunk wasn't in economic troubles I wouldn't donate money and besides, it's something that eventually would happen after the contest and thus none of Smukfest's business. I know that I use it to create attention, but that's the only thing.
Also, all the other contestants are under the same conditions as me, they are free to find ways of sharing it creatively as well.
Helping FunnyJunk isn't my primary goal in this at all, I'm in this contest because filmmaking is my life. Supporting FunnyJunk is a thing I want to do because winning makes me able to, and because I knew it would catch peoples attention so my message could reach as many as possible.
