1. Boerenkool with Rookworst, quite easily one of my favorite dishes, the Boerenkool is like spinach but a bit rougher texture, and the rookworst is a big soft-ish sausage with a good taste, good reccomend for tourists
2. Pepernoten : mostly eaten during the dutch holiday : Sinterklaas (santa clause), Pepernoten are rough and chewy, but taste good
3. Kruidnoten : Kruidnoten are basicially Ginger nuts, but not in the form of a biscuit, also eaten during the holiday Sinterklaas
4. Drop : Basicially black licorice, not exactly dutch from origin, but Holland is the biggest consumer of black licorice, and has a lot of different shapes, sizes and tastes
5. Ontbijtkoek : Mostly eaten during breakfast, it's a very dry cake which gets a lot better with a layer of butter on top, people also created more variatons which are eaten as snacks (Ontbijtkoek with raisins, chocolate etc.)
6. Appelflappen : Triangles filled with mainly apple and sugar, other things can be added, mostly eaten around christmas or new years eve
7. Bitterballen : a lot like the Kroket in the 1st comp, these are a lot smaller and eaten in a single bite, these are mostly eaten during parties and such
8. Poffertjes : Mini-pancakes with a spongy texture, mostly eaten with a tiny bit of butter and some powdered sugar, this is a traditional dutch fooditem which you can find in almost any major store, but it's a lot tastier when freshly made
9. Jodenkoeken : Soft cookies with a slight crunch, eaten a lot in Holland the name translated is Jewcookies and people tried to make a fuss about it, but didn't succeed
(Personally i think it's named that way because it's super cheap)
