FNaF Fact Compilation 8: the revival
It's a massive possibility the kid you play as in FNaF 4 is golden freddy. GF can be considered an extension of the child's mind telling himself to do stuff. It's assumed at this point the 4 main mascots (foxy, bonnie, chica and freddy) are already haunted, so it's logical that golden freddy is the kid's own creation.

speaking of FNaF 4, nightmare's head is transparent...for some reason. More spook factor perhaps?

If the marionette is released in FNaF 2, it's possible to see his face flicker in the cameras while you wait for his jump scare. This further backs up the theory that FNaF 2 takes place in a dream as when terror strikes, dreams become more finnicky and unstable (at least in my experience).

However, no matter how water tight the theory is, the theory that every FNaF game takes place in a dream is dumb, even if it is revealed to be canon.
Fact.
It's possible springtrap in the FNaF 3 trailer is purple guy's final moments, struggling to get out of the suit that's slowly closing in around him.
plushtrap is spookier than springtrap
So yeah...this many FNaF fan games...
