Hey guys, two month updoot!
So, I started at 225 lbs, Which is obese and just disgusting.
As of 8/9/15, I have lost 47 lbs and am now down to 178 lbs! I am no longer obese, and am approaching the lower end of the overweight range. I plan to go down to 165, another 12 pounds.

I've found cutting your carb intake to 25-50g a day and 20-30 minutes of cardio a day works amazingly.

I've lost 8kg and 5 inches off my waist in 4 weeks so far, just by cutting out bread, pasta, rice and potatoes with running everyday. Eating lean meat and fresh fruit and vegetables has left me feeling more energetic and just generally better in myself.

If you followed that diet you wouldn't even need the cardio to lose weight.

I know I don't need the cardio to lose weight, I'm doing the cardio (and 5x5 workout) to improve my fitness.

Ehh so far i've gone from 113kg (249lbs) down to 100kg ( 220lbs) while on summer break
Haven't really noticed any differences except now my jeans fit a bit better.
dang everything sounds so huge in lbs

That's not too far off my weight, I had gone from 95 to 108kg from weight lifting with no cardio.

So now I do weights, cardio and cut out carbs. Down to 100kg and the fat is still falling off.

dieting is a huge part of any way to lose weight, it's easy to pack, but can be just as easy to lose if you do it right

I got a lot of my advice from my army recruitment center. I met the fitness requirements but they didn't tell me there are physical measurement requirements too.

Yep. Body comp and height/weight. They dont account for muscle mass, so ive seen bodybuilders get denied

That was my problem, I was within the weight limit before I started lifting, but I gained something like 12kg on the 5x5 strong lifts workout.

It's a horrible form of torture than can assist with the fat burning heavy weight lifting can't take care of.

HIIT is High intensity Interval Training; Basically sprint 30 sec, jog two min, sprint 30 sec... rinse and repeat. Can get mor cal burn in half the time of steadystate

What would you recommend for a 5'7" 220 pound man trying to lose weight?
Just finished my first semester of college during which I completely let myself go and for some time before it as well, I admit and I would like to focus on getting rid of the fat on my body, not necessarily building strength or anything like that, I just wanna lose weight as my family has a history with diabetes and I'd rather not go down that road.

Cut out white potatoes, rice, pasta, and bread.

Grill meat, steam vegetables and find low carb options for meals. If you cut your carb intake to 25-50g a day you will lose weight without having to exercise.

But if you want to improve your fitness too, then I suggest a 5k running plan.

I personally have scrambled egg whites with grilled bacon (with the fat cut off) or plain yogurt with fruit if I want something lighter.

Any egg dish can work for a low carb meal, goats cheese omelette is nice too.
