This movie was for the fans. It's the most respectful adaptation I've ever seen, and it was great to see a kids movie that wasn't all flashy and took it's time. I can keep posting positive reviews if you want.

They did a lot of study on how light works in water and actually applied it to their animation.

the animators for the original show were given a video clip of a downlooking shot of real fish swimming around in a densely populated tube, and they did such a good job it was determined too realistic and it was then they decided to go with that awesome cartoony art style
