my old cat used to play fetch with me. he was way too energetic for an apartment though, so we had to give him away in order to make him happy. i miss him
Mine used to chase laser pointers. Now she bats the pointer itself out of my hand. When I throw a mouse, she walks over to it, looks at it, and walks away... She used to chase me around the midsection of my house (which is a circle) when I was dragging a string behind me, then she realized she could just sit at one part and wait for me to come back around. Damn thing is outsmarting me at every turn. I dont know what to do about it.
I've got a Red Tabby named Hennessey, and the most interesting thing he does is hump blankets and eat candy. He's also kind of an asshole and bites people when he's cuddling. But Nimbus here is absolutely adorable.
To be fair, that does sound like a normal cat. Especially the being an asshole part. We've struck it lucky, our other cat is the most uncat-like cat ever. She likes belly rubs.
My house mate's cat had kittens almost a year ago, one of them became obsessed with bottle caps and would fetch them. Though she didn't attack us to get us to throw it again. I have a couple of videos of her doing it on my pc but I don't know how to convert them to mp4 so I can put it in the comments.
one of the other kittens used to steal rolled up socks then growl at anyone she thought was going to try and steal them off her. what made it funnier was that the only male kitten, who was usually pretty docile, would go and jump on her when ever she did it. He had no interest in stealing the socks, just pissing off his sister.
This is the best photo I have of all four of them together. I think they're a month or two old at this point. That is my foot and footrest they're sleeping on. I still miss them all
We've got a rottweiler dog who is massive compared to Nimbus, and she (the rotty) is TERRIFIED of him. He can get so fluffy he damn near doubles in size.
She would wake me up in the middle of the night with a sponge in her mouth meowing. And would keep picking it up, meowing, and dropping it in front of me until I would throw it.
She would run after it, pick it up, and bring it back to me to throw again.
I used to be really allergic to cats years ago as well. My family got cats anyway and over a bit I developed complete immunity to them; I can be around them as much as I want with no negative effects. You might be surprised, although surely you'd want a backup plan for it if it didn't work out.
I know for a fact that I still am because my best friend has a cat and i can't spend more than about an hour in her room because of the animal dander. And god forbid I pet the cat and then touch my face before washing my hands; it's game over.
Ah well that's what I'm saying though. I used to be the same way. It became very hard to breathe whenever I hung out at my cousins' room as a kid. I'd have to step out for a bit every so often. But living around a cat constantly (although not up close, just in the same house) was apparently enough to make my immune system get over it after about a month or so.
I see what you mean. However I dont think it would happen for me even if I were to try and build up an immunity; I had a bunch of tests done by my doctor for allergies and I got a print-out of what I'm allergic to and how bad on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being bad enough to kill me. That print out is 5 pages long and the only thing that was a 4 on that list was cats and shellfish.
