If women want equality they can have it. That means a man has as much of a right to keep his children as their mother does, the woman has to pay child support if the father wins custody, and she has to pay him alimony. Oh yeah, and women as just a morally responsible as men. That means it's rape if a woman forces a man to have sex with her, it's assault if she slaps a man if not out of self defense, and it's also morally abhorrent if a woman hits her children just like if a man does. If we give equal rights to women that includes moral responsibility. I can't go around and get knocked up by whatever hot guy I see walking around and get an abortion or milk the government for taxpayer money to pay for my irresponsibly, so neither should you.

"Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women. - Wikipedia

Imma just post this again because I can
"Feminism as a whole concentrates on analysing the structure of society in terms of gender relations.

Liberal Feminism states that there are no essential differences between men and women and that both parties should have the right to choose their roles in life without discrimination, and that women are entitled to equal rights as men.
It also seeks change through legislation and changing society's general outlook.
This kind of feminism was one of the first kinds and was the basis on which the suffragette movement was based upon.

Marxist feminism views capitalist class relations as a main cause of female oppression, because in the labour market women are more likely to be used as cheap, disposable labour than men. It also states that within the domestic environment women have major responsibility with domestic work and raising children.
It also states that women's roles at home benefit men's careers and therefore their employer's profits, however capitalist ideology and consumerism creates images of women being sex objects which in turn fosters subordination.

Now onto the part no one likes; Radical Feminism.
Radical feminists accept there are natural differences but that is no justification for male dominance., and this male dominance devalues the way women think, feel and act. They also claim that men use their power to enforce male ideology and keep women "under control".
It also criticizes liberal feminism saying it's based on male values and norms.
As a whole, radical feminism devalues women's domestic nurturing of children.

Overall, feminism has highlighted "malestream" sociology by introducing neglected topics such as domestic violence and sexist socialization, and has also increased opportunities for women"

Feminism has gone from female equality to female supremacy.

They're different things. Feminists focus on women, as this is where discrimination lies in most of the world. Equalitists focus on equality for all, which is what I identify myself as.

when talking with guys I use the term egalitarianism. When i am talking with girls I use feminism. Feminism means equality it just highlights that the current social construct does favor males in Most areas, but not all.

Does anybody on this site actually have encounters with feminists? Or do they just hear other people bitching about them on the internet?

they want feminine equality, that question is dumb. Like really, a true equalist would be working on a global scale to eliminate any sort of undue advantage disadvantages one group has over another, working constantly against religious, ethnic, social, and sexual biases of all kinds across the world. A true feminist should be working for removal of the undue advantages and disadvantages of the female group. In such a manner that their final position allows for equality in the the most ways with respect to physiological differences. Their tasks will have very little to do with other forms of inequality if it does not hamper women. Honestly, fj. why the potshots at women? Like very few of the jokes I see here are not straw man arguments we stretch over half the population. What the actual **** ? Just let us hate ****** women on a case by case basis

Equality? How about everyone get a dick/vagina? There's no equality ._.
#79 to #75 - fozzoul (11/15/2013) [-]
My idea of equality is that everyone gets what they work for. Today if a man and a woman do the same job, the man gets paid more. In alot of countries women are treated worse than animals and have absolutely no rights at all. and thats just some of the female equality problems, racism, stereotypes and other **** somehow makes people less valuable in some peoples eyes. This is the **** im talking about . nature may separate us, but as a society we should get what we work for and not have gender, colour or sexuality get in the way.
User avatar #36 - weenieandthebutt (11/15/2013) [-]
The word you're looking for is egalitarianism where there's different forms of equality achieved for people of all gender, race, religion, sexuality etc
