all forms of feminism, and on the larger scale, progressivism, have been detrimental to society.

Preface: I speak from the perspective of a citizen of the United States. I do not mean to speak for the situations or political climates of other countries.

I respect your opinion, but feminism was not a bad thing, nor do its core tenets constitute destructive policy in the modern era. Without women having the right to vote, we would suffer from an inherently unequal society, one in which a minority would be unable to express its needs. If women had not been able to freely join the work force, I would have been out on the street, as my mother certainly wouldn't have been able to support us when times got tough. Progressivism is exactly that, progress. Is it always nice and pretty? Definitely not, but at least people are trying to improve our society. Without Progressive ideas, we would still live in a segregated society, if not a society embroiled in slavery. Without Progressivism, we would not have been able to make the scientific advancements we have in the past century. Progressivism is not detrimental to society, unless you think severe lackings in science, subpar education, and completely archaic social structures are beneficial to society. Modern Radical Feminism has warped and distorted the original aim of Feminists, but I, for one, am glad to identify as a feminist. These people disgrace the name and the movement, and it's a shame that they're such loudmouths. I fight against them whenever and wherever I can.

Equal rights are good. The problem with Modern Feminism in my opinion is that the movement has become too centered upon feelings and has discarded too many facts. I am a feminist because I support equality, but equality for everybody. Reproductive freedom for men AND women. Equal regard in the eyes of the law concerning custody rights. Equal prison sentences. You know. Egalitarian stuff.

It's what feminism is meant to be. I hope for the culture to soon change so that feminism starts to become known as equalism.
