Can you even have an IQ of over 200? Isn't the highest anyone has like 195 or something?

The standard test can't detect higher than around 195, but if you get to that range they just give you a special test made to detect higher values.

Well IQ's are scaled using standard deviation, so it is possible. The average could get really stupid and then someone with a current IQ of 180 could become 250 or you could just have someone that is really ******* good with those IQ tests and is just that far above the average.

It dependes on the test. Wechsler tests' maximum score is 160. The Stanford-Binet's maximum score is 200 I believe. IQ is an approximate representation of general intelligence in comparison with the norm.

Google William James Sidis. He had an IQ around 250-300 ish
He could read when he was 1 and got into Harvard as 11 years old (The youngest ever to attend Harvard.) And when he became an adult, could 40 different languages.
He was basically the cleverest man on earth.

It was later acknowledged, however, that some of the claims made were exaggerations, with a researcher stating "I have been researching the veracity of primary sources of various subjects for about twenty-eight years, and never before have I found a topic so satiated with lies, myths, half-truths, exaggerations, and other forms of misinformation as is in the history behind William Sidis".

I googled him. This doesn't look very promising.

Woot! Fellow 160 IQ college dropout here too! *hi five!*

But yeah, it's actually more "problem solving" ability, not ability to take in new info (which sounds more like a memorization game...which IQ tests don't give two shytes about). I think that's kinda what you meant, but I think your wording wasn't quite on.

I actually suck at taking in information itself. In math class in high school I actually found it easier to ******* figure out equations from scratch at the time I needed them than to memorize them. That's how "problem solving" oriented my brain is vs "take in new info" oriented.

You're implying that a 160 is unheard of except for a select few people that are the smartest minds in the world. A high I.Q. doesn't make me inherently skilled at anything, including math or science. All it supposedly allows me to do is to grasp concepts at a faster pace than those with a lower I.Q. What I, specifically have done is I have tried to become above average at as many things as possible, rather than being great at any one thing. I make music, study history, write books and poems, learn about biology, etc...

Why, do you disapprove of me not using my 'intelligence' to further benefit humanity? Or do you just not believe me, and you're trying to mock me?

I've never in my life met anyone that've claimed they have an IQ of less that 100.... And for people who knows how the numbers in IQ is measured (100 being the average) understand why probably half of the boasters are wrong.

Ahem... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miyamoto_Musashi

Summary, MIyamoto Musashi was a swordsman and author who basically developed a two sword fighting style, where he would dual wield a katana with a wakazashi, (I assume your point is that the katana is a two handed weapon) He would travel around japan, and duel people to prove how big of a badass he was. After defeating all of the great swordsmasters he could find to assert his dominance, he went and lived in a cave, where he wrote the book of five rings, which is basically a book on how to be a badass ************. TLDR: he used TWO SWORDS!

Glad you brought up Musashi. Read the Book of Five Rings, his philosophy and practice! Oh, and Musashi once turned up late to a duel, armed only with an oversized sword he carved out of a wooden oar. He then proceeded to use said oar to beat his opponent to death, before getting back in his boat and rowing off again.

He preferred to have a wakizashi in his offhand, but could easily dualwield full length katanas in both hands. Intrestingly enough he said something among the lines that that wielding a katana in his left is "Unnessessary if one is skilled enough" implying that the weight and length of one is not cumbersome, and that wielding a second katana could be considered easier. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miyamoto_Musashi#Ni-Ten_Ichi_Ryu
