I love how "Asian Americans" got upset at this joke saying it makes fun of all Asians. Meanwhile it's making fun of the massive amounts of sweatshops in China. Like ones that have nets around the building so if their workers jump off the top they won't die....IPhone factories.
Yeah, i was learning about this in class. It was very interesting and very sad. The price we pay for stuff in stores has so many of the cost reduced down the line, it's called "Cost externalizing" a good video to watch about it that's not like 1 hour is a 20 minute video called "The Story of Stuff".
(Asian American btw, **** the ones that get offended by this)
Yeah it's bad out there. I went to school for business and accounting, have a minor in economics, and run my own business so I know a ton about this stuff.
The sad part is, two parts anyway, that people got offended by something that has nothing to do with them, showing how insecure and self centered they are. And like how the anonymous person wrote, "this is why capitalism must be stopped." No, this is why it must be REGULATED. Discounts on tariffs to china, highest corporate tax rate in the world and allow them to leave our shores, NAFTA, list goes on where we de-regulated our trade and oh look, it's killing us.
Blah Blah corporate greed, not my problem the Fed makes up rules and they find ways to avoid them, considering their sole purpose is to make money. That's what they do, and good for them for always doing it. It's like the Fed goes to damn the river, it breaks off and flows into a town and the villagers blame the river for it.
I don't mind preachy lol. As long as you have the facts to back it up, which you do.
Yeah, let them be insecure with themselves. It won't help them fix what they're insecure by whining on the internet. I completely agree with the regulated part. It's the same with the cap and trade, it can be abused if they don't regulate it and companies just let off fugitive emissions.
Yup, but the insecure ones are the ones ruining it for everyone else. Kid suspended for pointing his fingers like a gun. Girl suspended for shaving her head to show support to her cancer ridden friend. Everything is racist. Everything is homophobic, which doesn't even mean fear of gays but whatever they made it that way. All of the people who had thin skin and were insecure, ended up with jobs that mattered and are screwing with everyone else now.
This kinda **** wouldn't happen if the major governmental PMC agents wouldn't rely so heavily on the war economy. Child soldiers like Jack could've had a better childhood, and instead of nuclear proliferation aided by Metal Gears and soldiers relying on SOP, we could have a better semblance of peace. That was The Boss's vision anyway.
Contradictory I know, but I know the storyline. The Boss never wanted this **** to happen.
Scratch that, this storyline doesn't make any Goddamn sense, I just got done replaying MGS4 yesterday and it's ridiculous. What was even accomplished? Was Ocelot able to do what he wanted to do, or did Sunny successfully stop him? They still haven't explained why Sigint started working for Liquid. Ocelot acted like this was another "Hah, you did everything for me even though I was trying to kill you this whole time!" thing, but that has never, and will never make any ******* sense. Who's side was Naomi on?! WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?! GOOD GOD THIS STORYLINE IS MORE ****** THAN LOST!!!
"Was Ocelot able to do what he wanted to do, or did Sunny successfully stop him?"
Straight away your question is a little hard to answer because there is Revolver Ocelot and Liquid Ocelot and they are both in the same body. I assume you mean the Liquid version, in which case Sunny was able to stop his plan by making the FOXALIVE virus, it killed off the Patriot control but preserved the basic functions needed to keep civilisation going (water, electricity etc). Liquid wanted them all gone to throw the world into the new Wild West.
"They still haven't explained why Sigint started working for Liquid."
Sigint became the DARPA Chief and never worked for Liquid, he was kidnapped by Liquid in MGS1 but died under interrogation. He was an ally of Major Zero and one of the original members of The Patriots however.
"Ocelot acted like this was another "Hah, you did everything for me even though I was trying to kill you this whole time!" thing, but that has never, and will never make any ******* sense."
Again, which Ocelot. If you mean Liquid then it almost went according to his plan, but Sunny stopped it with FOXALIVE. If you mean Revolver then it did go according to his plan, the AIs were stopped and they were able to revive Big Boss.
"Who's side was Naomi on?!"
Naomi was on the side of Revolver Ocelot, Eva, Big Boss and her mission was to get the FOXALIVE virus to work, she though Otacon would be the one to help her do that but it turned out to be Sunny.
Ocelot was never two different people. It was an act to fool the Patriots. He was psychologically conditioned into adopting Liquid's mannerisms and suppressing his own (such as his finger-gun shenanigans "You're pretty good!").
That's true but once he went into his Liquid frame of mind, he truly believed his own lie so for all intents and purposes he was 2 different people. It wasn't until Snake fought him at the end when he punched the Liquid out of him that he was able to remember what was really happening.
That's not how I saw it. I mean, yeah, Snake punched the Liquid out of him, but Ocelot knew what he was doing the whole time. He was just relieved that the charade was finally over and the mission was accomplished.
If Ocelot knew the whole time then he would have dropped his Liquid persona before the start of their fight, after all, the mission was accomplished. Ocelot went through psychological conditioning to fool himself into believing his lie.
Right, he was always Ocelot, but he didn't always know he was Ocelot. During the events of MGS4 up until the final fight, he believed he was Liquid, he wanted to use Big Boss's corpse and destroy it afterwards. He was unaware of the plan he made to revive Big Boss.
Nah, man, he only pretended to destroy Big Boss' corpse in order to be absolutely certain nobody would suspect Big Boss could still be alive. I think he knew he was Ocelot the whole time, and it was all just an elaborate smokescreen.
Now, I haven't played the ending in like three years, but I don't think the game contradicts my interpretation. They certainly never outright state what you're saying, IIRC.
He went through psychological conditioning in order to adopt Liquid's personality and physical mannerisms, and suppress his own, but they never say that he wasn't still Ocelot in his mind. Again, it was an extremely convincing act, but he didn't actually think he was Liquid. In his mind he was still Ocelot. The Liquid part of the plan was the smokescreen.
I'm saying he couldn't drop the act because it was so ingrained in him. He had done it for so long that it HAD to be beaten out of him. Being aware of psychological conditioning doesn't mean you can just will yourself to break it. After all, virtually everything we do is the result of a natural conditioning.
I disagree. I think he was fully aware of what was going on. Otherwise, doing the psychological conditioning on him in the first place wouldn't have been helpful, and he would not have been in enough of his right mind to actually get the job done.
I'd love to see them do an episode where the intro was pretty much all the show, Then right at the end, Do the end of the intro thing with the TV, Then 30 seconds of them casually leaving the house like a normal family for work/school
Or maybe it's just an overplayed joke? I don't think anyone actually believes Simpson's merchandise is made with radioactive waste, decapitated dolphins, or emaciated unicorns.
