On the day of June 6, of the year 1944 several hundreds of soldiers landed an invading force on Omaha beach in France, while under Nazi occupation. Of all these hundreds of soldiers who we could talk about a young man, unable to finish his schooling. his family's financial debt was too large, his last option was to join the fighting force out to defend the freedom of the country he loved, and the world his young brother would have to grow up with. Two years after he had signed up, and been trained, he was on his way, in but a few moments the iron gates separating him between almost certain death. The uttered a short prayer, and readied his rifle. With a great squeal the Ramp dropped down, and splashed into the water, the inevitable was coming, he was certain of it. Much to his surprise, he managed to run out of the metal death trap he was enclosed in but moments ago, that so many fine young men like himself would have their lives extinguished. He plunged into the cold European waters, his armor grew heavy on his shoulders, the pulled him deeper into the salty depths. He struggled harder and harder, but he simply could not get it off! But at last he managed to rip free of the powerful bonds of death and float freely up to the surface. He gasped for fresh air on the surface, already it was heavy and damp with the smells and flavors of blood. He had no time to mourn for his brother-in-arms, he had to avenge the bastards who had done this to him, He let out a loud roar of rage, and began his long march to the German bunkers mounted on the hillside.

I want that PPSH!
User avatar #45 to #42 - yuukoku (01/18/2014) [-]
No, you don't. Every part of it from inside to out is rusted through and the wooden frame is most likely rotten from water damage and just the fact that it's been buried for over half a century. It would cost more to fix it than to buy a newer, better gun and it would probably sooner explode in your hands than it would put a single round through it.
User avatar #46 to #45 - smokekusheveryday ONLINE (01/18/2014) [-]
I don't mean to fire it and try to fix it up......but last time i checked the ppsh 41 didn't fire explosive rounds so why would it explode( im an idiot with guns) a old Scosville mk 2 fragmentation grenade i can understand but a PPSH?
User avatar #47 to #46 - yuukoku (01/18/2014) [-]
I meant "explode" as a hyperbole. What I mean is that it would break or misfire. If you mean to have it just for collective purposes, then it'd be amazing to have.
User avatar #48 to #47 - smokekusheveryday ONLINE (01/18/2014) [-]
Oh well no i just feel foolish but yes it would be awesome to have just for collection purposes

It's a pity the Pitt Rivers Museum doesn't take on new items. This is exactly the sort of thing that would fit in there.

The mask brings out who you are and who you want to be and amplifies it, Deadpool's already pretty... true to himself, so he'd just get the wacky powers, I don't imagine he'd act any more wacky.

I tried to reverse image search it, and this caption has become too popular to trace the history.
Just stupid sites with this picture with 'hurrdurr samba beat' captions & comments.

Couldn't find the source. But it's pretty obvious what happened to this man.

also, even if I found the source I doubt it'll be anything interesting.
You tend to not know the story from someone you just found again after 60 years with only a russian helmet & russian handgrenade dating from 1930->1950., or a more accurate guess; 1942->1945.

All we could gain is perhaps where they found him, and the status of his skeleton. other than that, we know just as much as they probably did just from watching the picture

He was in a war, he got shot before he could throw a grenade and died.

Which is worrying given that that particular grenade could blow a hole in tank armour

Want me to make up a mile ******* long story, of a brave hero, who died long ago, with many other hero's like him, all of whom will never be truly remembered by all?

Yes because every hero becomes a legend and deserves his tale to be told and spread across time

... He swam slowly to shore, and then waded onto the beach. He had done it, he had taken one of the first steps to overthrowing the power that threatened the lives of so many, such great numbers of innocents. As a bullet whizzed over his head, he lunged for cover behind a fellow fallen comrade, a true hero to the cause of freedom of man. He had no time to mourn for his brother-in-arms, he had to avenge the bastards who had done this to him, He let out a loud roar of rage, and began his long march to the German bunkers mounted on the hillside. As he quickly dodged left to right, back and forth, they were becoming deadly accurate, and soon wouldn't miss a shot at him. He stayed down, and made dive for the wall of sand between him and his target. Something dug seep into his side, it burned with excruciating pain. He fell limp onto the mountain of sand, unable to run any further, his legs would not respond to him. He tried to get up, but when he did,he fell back over again. There was only one option left for him, a final blaze of glory, for his fellow hero's. He unstrapped the grenade at his side, He threw with all his might, but it was not good enough, he missed his target. He pulled another grenade off, he threw this one with even more accuracy and power than the last. It had fallen into the enemy bunker. He held out his last grenade, he clutched it tightly, it was the only thing he had to comfort him. The loud explosion rang long in his ears, he took one last look up, to see no more fire coming from the bunker, he had done it, he had helped his fellow soldiers.
