Every ******* time I gave Boone a fully modded anti material rifle, he would lose it. Ten minutes later, I'd get in a fight, and he'd pull out this ************* pea shooter. Apparently he would get it knocked out of his hands, and he didn't know how to ******* pick it back up, but I lost like 50k caps on that ******
I honestly would rather face deathclaws over cazadors. At least I can spam stimpaks with a deathclaw, with ******* cazadors that ******* venom **** just stacks until you go from full health to MMMMM WATCHA SAYYYY, MMM THAT YOU ONLY MEANT WELL, WELL OF COURSE YOU DIIIID in -.02 seconds ******* flat, not to mention cazadors can ******* fly, they're like the A-10's of the animal kingdom
If you've got the lonesome road add-on you should be able to just craft some snakebite tourniquets from buffalo gourd seeds and surgical tubing , it's an auto-use cure animal poison that gives +85 poison resistance for 30 seconds. Unless I'm underestimating Cazadors, that should be plenty to deal with the poison.
Everytime those ***** do that, I wish my character could grab that little bitch, break that ******* bony straw, pull it out, and then stab the ****** right in the eye.
Don't forget to pick up Stealth Suit MK2. It helps you sneak better, has some great bonuses, budgets your stimpaks accordingly, and won't ******* shut up.
I played the **** out of NV, and it wasn't until my final playthrough or two that I got the season pass, and of course I played Honest Hearts and Dead Money, and never got to the other two... Dayum shame ***** , I gotta go back sometime and at least play Old World Blues, everyone seems to absolutely love that ****
Seriously. There were one or two funny parts, the rest was just running around a foggy ass town fighting ghosts and trying not to explode... which unfortunately is not nearly as fun as it sounds
Honest Hearts was plenty of fun, felt well done
My brother has told me time and time again to play Old World Blues, everyone says I need to... Oddly enough, you are the first person who has ever really mentioned Lonesome Road to me, it almost feels like the "forgotten DLC" or something. But I would really love to go back and play them both
I really loved Dead Money... and hated it just the same. The whole area was cool as hell and finding out more about the Sierra Madre was one of the best parts of any of the DLCs. But god, **** that collar. It was just a trial and error game of "find the radio that's hidden in a location beyond the point of no return" or "You can't destroy the transmitter so maybe you're supposed to run past it, who the **** knows if it's safe!"
Don't they still cripple your **** ? Even if they do they're overrated as **** , just have an automatic weapon and spray in their general directions. They get stunned all the time if they get hit.
The first time I managed to enter this place on "Normal" difficulty , I got onto the conveyor belt constructions unreachable for the deathclaws and spammed the Gauss Rifle and Fat Man, killing them in mere 30 minutes. Hearing stories about epic battles with deathclaws and millions of used stimpacks makes me feel like a cheat.
if it makes you feel better first time I went was with a stealth character with better critcals and a modded in sniper rifle which was slightly stronger than the regular rifle and was silenced I oneshot the mother
One word for stealth characters:
Ratslayer.
"Oh, I'm sorry, were you trying to find me? Too bad. Try finding the chunks of your brain, punk."
Best part is that it loads 8 rounds of 5.56mm, one of the most widely available and powerfully customizable ammo types available. Also, it has a 5x crit multiplier. As long as your critical rate is 20% or higher (translation: as long as you have 10 Luck, Finesse, and the NCR First Recon Beret equipped), you will literally always crit, even without it being a sneak attack.
Someone notices you? Too bad for them, it's still a crit. And, if you're not an idiot and you remembered to pick up Hand Loader, you have Match rounds, meaning your weapon does even more damage with even lower spread.
tl;dr: Ratslayer is a sniper character's best friend. Especially when the only comparable weapon is a DLC weapon (Christine's Silencer Rifle, a Sniper Rifle that's fully silenced, but has low item HP and the same damage, critical damage, and crit multiplier as the normal Sniper Rifle), and it has the downsides of using a more expensive ammo type (.308, which has a Hand Loader ammo variant that increases damage at the cost of taking more item HP per shot, instead of the obviously superior increased damage and decreased spread with literally no downsides that 5.56mm gets).
tl;dr for the tl;dr: For stealth characters, Ratslayer is essential. Get it. Use it.
I spend three days in that ******* quarry.
Three real time days.
Boone died once, Veronica thrice and Rex ran away.
Spend most of my ammo, weapons and food trying to kill those ******* lizards, and I finally had to retreat.
Later in the game I returned, after maxing out unarmed and guns to 100 and ripping those sweet displacer gloves off the cold hands of Cesar's bodyguards.
Boone easily 360 quickscoped those little ***** with the AMR, and I punched into gravy the rest of them.
And still, I couldn't bring myself to kill the baby deathclaws after seeing them squirm at the death of their mother.
I just cleared that out last night. Used Hunting rifle with scope to pick off the regular deathclaws, along with lots of mines and powder charges. The Alpha male was glitched for some reason and could only be hurt with melee so I hacked at it with a machete for a solid 5 minutes. Then the Mother went berserk when i killed her kids so I had to GDL her off the face of the map. Good times...
One of the last things I did in NV was clear out the Deathclaw nests. Quarry Junction, Deathclaw Promontory, and Dead Wind Cavern Went in there with an Armor Piercing Ammo AMR, Elite Riot Gear, and Arcade Wearing Remnants Armor wielding a Tesla Cannon. Died 5 times. In Dead Wind, where the Legendary Deathclaw is, I died 7 times. I'm never going near a Deathclaw ever again.
they're kind of a joke in fallout 4 to be honest. Found one by accident exploring yesterday when i wasn't in power armor. I shot my .44 at it expecting to die but ended up killing it in like 12 shots
I miss when they were scary. Now they're ******* cakewalks. I was actually too tired to switch back to my gun, so I killed one with my bare hands. Was only wearing a pre-war suit and sunglasses. Granted I was level 40, and used around 15 Stimpaks, but you can't do that **** in NV.
What difficulty are you playing on?
First one I faced was in the Minutemen start where you get the power armor and a minigun, I likely emptied 700 rounds in it before it went down and it kept tearing chunks of my armor.
Quarry junction is not that bad, its a good place for new players to get good gear because all the enemy's super easy, I recommend going there first for new players. I mean its only full of deathclaws and has nothing in it, so its a super good idea
