While I do always like reading these, I have to admit there is pretty much nothing that can make me lose or regain my faith in humanity.

Soviet/Chinese Communism, WW2, The Holocaust, random acts of terrorism.
I still have faith that humanity can reach some peaceful equilibrium and reach for the stars someday.

The good hearted will always outweigh the bad. Sure, everyone can be an asshole. But it's natural to be mean sometimes. The reason why we believe the world has gone to **** is because the bad and the stupid always get more media coverage than the good, which creates an illusion that everyone is the same. If some **** head decides to shoot up a mall full of innocent bystanders with an AR15 the same day a woman rescued a box of kittens from a fire, the bad news will obviously get more ratings and coverage. It doesn't pay to be good. But it pays a lot to be bad. The bad stands out because we're used to being around good people.

Feel free to lose your faith in God, but don't lose your faith in people. Because unlike God, we know for sure people exist and like it or not, we're always going to be around people.
