It's difficult to get definite info on this without paying 55 USD to a foreign government, but most of the sources are reputable newspapers and they all say the same thing.

They did NOT both die on the same intersection- just on the same road. Middle Road, the largest and longest road in Hamilton, Bermuda. Bermuda's government wants $55 to look up any death certificates, apparently, so if you're willing to dish out the funds to confirm this urban legend be my guess

The names of the brothers were Erskine and Neville Ebbin. Their father lived nearby- John Henry Ebbin of Woodlawn Road. The date of the first crash was July 30, 1974; the date of the second crash was July 18, 1975. So the "same day" thing is also an exaggeration, but it's still pretty damn close.

Hamilton is a very small town, so the "same taxi driver" and "same passenger" thing are more likely than most places, but slightly less reputable than the other facts of this story, because it's not confirmed by the papers- it's only "according to their father".

All of the facts given above are consistent between three different newspapers. So while this is still a bit exaggerated, it's still rather likely and entirely possible. Far more probable than your average greentext, anyway.

In my city, I always see the same two taxi drivers driving the same two people because they're the only people in town with the odd combo of being unable to afford a car but able to afford a taxi, and they have a favorite taxi driver to top it off. So I find it plausible from that angle.

I should mention it's a small city and taxis don't drive around looking for passengers, you actually call em up and they come get you.

More of a "maybe it did move" guesstimate for headlines since it's not even decided what the actual height is. It varies between 8848 meters and 8850 meters.

#1: Except the implication there is wrong.
The reason why it was removed was because the US didnt want the Japanese so infuriated by the bombing of their Religious/Historical capital that they would fight to the death. Kyoto was NEVER bombed at any point during the war for the same fear.
Trust me, I have a BA in History. WW2 my forte.

Becausd the main point of the atom bombs was to scare tha japanese into submission no?
Like pulling a gun on a burglar
#47 to #37 - anon (12/28/2015) [-]
It was more a move to scare the Soviet Union than anything.

Japan had the US and the Soviets breathing down their neck, they were already going to cease hostilities because their Emperor wasn't a complete blistering idiot that thought fighting both of the great powers of the world without any backup would be a good idea.

Have a story related to this:
> At grandparents town
> Neighbors are one of those "respect animals to the max" people
> they didn't neuter or have their dogs on a leash
> now there was this one dog
> basically a local legend
> everyday, he jumps the house's fence (about 2 metres)
> walks down to the closest bus station
> bus drivers let him in. Passengers all know him
> gets off at the stop in the center of town
> proceeds to copulate with as many female canines as possible
> returns home on the bus before dark
He died about 2 years ago. The streets of the town were filled with his offspring, to the point that the city asked the owners to neuter the dog, offering them a compensation, which they declined, because the streets were getting filled with them.

On the other hand, i wouldnt like getting neutered...
User avatar #76 to #38 - distortedflare ONLINE (12/28/2015) [-]
I agree but if they are letting the dog bring unwanted pups into this world they could be used for dog fighting either as training for the fighting dogs or as fighters themselves. They could be abused by sick ***** , die of starvation/ diseases the list goes on. All because owners are too ******* stupid and proud of their dog ******* a lot of other dogs.

And the coolest **** about this one?
The pistol, shotgun, and machete were all part of the single thing shown here.
My memory is a bit lacking about it and I don't remember what it was called, but it had two or three barrels and the machete was folded in the stock.
User avatar #33 to #24 - thedutchs (12/28/2015) [-]
A folded machete seems like a ****** thing to have.

You want it to be fulltang to be useful.
#62 to #33 - anon (12/28/2015) [-]
Are you implying I can't use a 3/4 tang machete?
