Nope, it's legit, the Nazis were known to never embellish their war stories one bit for propaganda.
Same goes for the Americans, Brits, Canadians, Japs, Russkies. Pretty much everybody except the French and the Swiss, who, for obvious reasons, have no true war stories.

The 14 US cows were never transported to the US due to the costs and health issues (cows probably wouldn't survive the trip anyway). The gift was organized by a guy from a poor tribe whose story about hardships to get a proper education very rare in that area, he is the only one of his tribe to actually receive one inspired many, including the US ambassador. So he established a scholarship there for 14 kids to attend local schools. The scholarship works to this day apparently.

Even though on a good day the Waffen-SS was about as effective as a regular Wehrmacht unit in combat. What they lacked in professionalism in combat they made up for by having some of the best equipment available at any given time combined with fanatical loyalty, which made them particularly ruthless, nearly suicidal fighters.

Germany was outnumbered by a huge factor. Russia alone had 20X as many troops. It's outstanding that Germany managed to do as much as it did, and it can thank its highly skilled soldiers for that.

20 times as many troops from the USSR which had a pre-war census of 160m in 1936 and was probably 200m in 1940, compared to Germany with 80m in 1940, plus their various puppet states?

Stop with the nonsense about Germany being outnumbered ten times or whatever the current figures that get popped up, the Germans were only outnumbered effectively several times in the European theatre.

Russia in comment #41 was said to have x20 times as many troops. This is manifestly false, because the ratio of population was under 3 at least. Even adding in the United States with 130m people and the UK with 50m only brings the grand total up to 380m, but both the United States and the UK had limited land armies relatively, and other commitments around the globe that they had to send troops to deal with. Thus in effect the Germans were outnumbered, but the claims that they were outnumbered x10 or x20 times and that is why they lost is simply a lie.
