In the book, he does not talk to the gargoyles at all. He talks to the bells.
In the book, Quasimodo is half blind, half mute, and deaf.
In the book, Phoebus rapes Esmeralda- who is a naive pre-teen Caucasian that had been kidnapped ,by the Gypsies by the by- Esmeralda is blamed for his murder even though he is still alive and hanged, Frollo is tossed off the bell tower by Quasimodo, and Quasimodo dies of dehydration after refusing to leave Esmeralda's corpse's side even after it is thrown into the garbage pit outside of Paris.

It is not a happy story.

He was kind of like Helen Keller. He could say two or three words, but the rest was just quiet, garbled nonsense. He could only talk to Frollo, and only through sign language.

You do know the date of that book, right? It could easily be plain ignorance of the time's medicine.

Also, why did you write the initials if you were gonna out the whole thing anyway?

Schizophrenia a severe separation of the belief of what is real, multiple personality disorder is where one can have multiple 'consciences' living inside themselves.

Furthermore, the official name for multiple personality disorder is "Dissociative Identity Disorder." Unlike schizophrenia, which is primarily genetic, the leading theory for the cause of DID is severe childhood trauma, to the point were their personality splinters in order for them to cope. So each personality specializes in dealing with a different thing. What is even more interesting is that not only does each personality act differently, but each once will show different readings on an EEG, and will sometimes even manifest allergies that are not present in the other personalities.

oddly enough I found out recently I am bipolar and a paranoid schizo.

It only took 20 years and a college level psychology class to figure this out.

Now the question is do I take med's? I have never taken anti deppressants because of the government but apparently believing **** like this is part of the paranoid schizo.......

I should start out by saying I am in no way a medical professional (well, I am a CNA, but as far as medical athourity goes you have jack ****, or slightly more than an orderly would). Most of my knowledge comes from a desire to go into the mental health field, a ******** of reading, from books to research papers, and personal experience dealing with both sides of the mental health field.
That being said you probably should look into going on meds. Don't be afraid to do your own research from reputable sources and advocate for yourself with your doctors, though. Having a mental illness does not make you helpless, stupid, or incapable of thinking for your self. And if you have paranoid schizophrenia the doctor's might put you on a higher dosage of anti-psychotics than nessesary (the average dosage in the US is higher than what the soviets used to torture political prisoners). So again, do your research and advocate for yourself.

In the original Sleeping Beauty, Aurora is raped by her "Prince", who, from what I remember might not have even been royalty, and gave birth to the baby from it all in her sleep.
In the original Cinderella, the evil step-sisters cut off their toes and hack their feet up to try to get the glass slipper to fit them.
In the original Pinocchio, Pinocchio kills the cricket who's called Jiminey in the Disney adaption and the Fox and Cat try to hang him.

... That actually came across in the film, except i thought he was so lonely he made friends with his other selves and projected them onto gargoyles for companionship... On reflection, I must have been a weird 8 year old.

I think, that the idea was there, since in one musical number, it appaers, that the gargoyles never moved. But in the end, they help defend the church. My guess is, that they thought this cartoon is ****** up enough because of Frollo, and all the morbid ****. And so they said to themselves: "Let's keep atleast ONE personal life drama out of this."

Just gonna go ahead and point this common misconception out: schizophrenia is not multi-personality disorder.

The point is schizophrenia enabled him to see/hear things that were not there.

The personalities binded to the things he created were not because of multiple personalty disorder.
