Tumblr is set up to where you almost always only see what you want to see from like-minded people. This would normally be a good way to entertain yourself but many people on Tumblr unknowingly use this to create very real, virtual hugboxes. At least on FJ we're more likely to argue with each other like assholes.

The spread of English is also the prime product of colonialism; there's a reason the English-speaking world happens to be everywhere Britain went, or qhere those created by Britain went - Canada, America, Australia, New Zealand, large areas of India and the Phillippines... Technically speaking English is, in most parts of the world, to benefit directly from colonialism.

Americans have French, Germans, Italians, Irish, Welsh, Scottish, etc - even the white population has a rather high liklihood of being guilty of "cultural appropriation" because most Americans aren't actually English or Spanish, and the culture that has developed is effectively a mix-and-match of all white cultures.

And yes, I did mean cultures - if anyone thinks whites are a homogenous group, they're obviously ignoring at least 2000 years of European history; we didn't fight constantly for the hell of it.
