Actually, Xbox had up to 1080i via component cables, and I think some ps2 games were HD as well. The dreamcast was the only one to natively output a vga signal though.
>Implying other platforms don't suffer from repetitive gameplay.
Hey, what's that new title called again? It was a shooter featuring crafting, stealth, parkour, zombies, looting, magic (Ã la Bioshock, Dishonored, Skyrim, etc.) and achievements, and it was set in a steam punky, medieval, gritty setting.
At least Nintendo keeps the repetitiveness within the same game series, and shows a lot of diversity otherwise.
Ok, you haven't played LoZ.
Zelda I - Find the triforce pieces
Zelda II - Rescue the Princess
Link to the Past - Save the land
Link's Awakening - Awaken the Windfish
Ocarina of Time - The ONLY game that follows your mention of storyline
Majora's Mask - Find Majora's Mask
Oracle of Ages/Seasons - Another save the land, but a plot that extends past the basic storyline. No mention of Zelda though... Except for the title
Four Swords - Multiplayer shenanigans
Minish Cap - Basic 'save princess, save world' storyline
Twilight Princess - Save his close friend, restore Midna's true power, defeat Ganon, and more
Phantom Hourglass - Banish evil from the Ocean
Spirit Tracks - Stop Chancellor Cole
Skyward Sword - Prevent evil from escaping
Link Between Worlds - Sort of a remake of LttP, except for vast changes in temples, gameplay mechanics, etc.
Not to mention the vast difference in appearance, gameplay mechanics, and design.
well if you want to be exact, keyboards and mice have changed many times, different shapes,
materials, more buttons, more functions and then you have the different stuff like the orb weaver from razer.
this is true. i remember playing morrowind back in '03 with a ball mouse...nothing more frustrating than being in an epic fight only to have the ball jam up. optical mice were a major improvement
Its not a bad controller
Gamecube is still the best design from any console to me,fits the hand perfectly everything is within reach
Always thought the ps2 analog was uncomfortable on the thumb compared to the GC one
I thought it was a unique idea, having the ability to change conroller config not through a menu but through hand placement (even though left hand on middle and right hand on right was used 100% of the time)
I never had a gamecube ... Its pretty much one of my lifelong dreams to play Master Quest. One day ill graduate and then i'll be able to afford nice things.
**rollfourexplain used "*roll 1, 0-9999*"** **rollfourexplain rolls 9,644**
There's an emulator called "Dolphin" that does a pretty good job on N64, Gamecube, and Wii games. Surprisingly enough it's had a second wind of development activity and a new person hired to work on it managed to fix floating point rounding errors making most games run miles better than before. I can't remember if the Master Quest is on the N64 or Gamecube but if it's on Gamecube give the Dolphin emulator a try for sure because it will work.
Also I heard that they managed to crack the two specially coded Star Wars games on the Gamecube. Some company made custom chip instructions and optimizations that boosted the power of the Gamecube but people had a lot of trouble getting it to run with an emulator. I can't recall the name of either of them.
The GC was probably my favourite console. It's highly underrated. Its not quite a cube though.. Until you get the gameboy player. It snaps on the bottom. Now you can play Gameboy and gameboy color on your console. Pokeman is great on a bigger screen.
I never owned a GameCube, started playing with a GC controller at my friend's request when we played smash bros brawl.
The GC controller has got to be the most comfortable controller I've ever used. Everything is right where you need it to be. I've owned an N64 since I was 5, and I'm more used to the GC controller in months of use than I ever was to the N64's abomination. Nintendo really is a ******* rollercoaster in terms of design quality at times
As much as Nintendo obviously has trouble deciding on what type of controller they want to have as standard, the gamecube controller is probably the best controller ever made IMO
I agree, except that I really think there could have been a left shoulder button, just in case people want to use it. I'd say take away the Z button and give the controller the shoulder buttons that are on the Wii U pro controller, and that's all I'd have changed.
For me, it depends on the type of games.
For classic games (8-bit to 16-bit) I think the Super Nintendo Controller is the best.
For everything else (32-bit and up) I haven't really decided. The reason is that there are some things that other controllers do better. I'll just point out a few personal pros and cons (in my opinion)
-Gamecube - Good: Shape, feel in hand. Stick response is good. Bad: I don't like the button placement. I like the classic 4 buttons the same size in diamond shape.
-Playstation - Good: Symmetric, face and top buttons are responsive. Bad: The D-pad really needs some work (I haven't tried PS4 yet). I played the classic Street Fighter II on PS2 and had trouble executing the moves perfectly.
-X-Box: XBox360 has concave stick and trigger buttons feel great. Bad: The original Xbox controller is terrible all around. One of the worst. XBox360 controller has a horrible D-pad too. I don't like the placement either, I would swap the left stick and d-pad.
-Wii Mote: Good: Turning on it side is pretty cool. Bad: Turning on it side is uncomfortable in hand.
-Wii-Classic: Good: Great shape, great feel, symmetric, okay d-pad, great sticks. Bad: The shoulder/top buttons feel stiff. I played Mario Kart 8 and hopping feels weird with it.
-Wii-Pro Controler U: Good: Great feel, good shoulder buttons, good sticks, great d-pad, buttons feel good. Triggers are a nice addition. Bad: The placement. I don't like the buttons below the stick. I think it should be reversed.
-N64 - Good: Plenty buttons Bad: I don't like this controller at all. It is not as bad as the Original xbox controller however.
They don't want to have a standard controller. They want to try something new with every generation. Despite claims of them recycling games, their consoles are always unique and that's what I love about them.
you need to feel it, my ****** , the slender plastic fitting perfectly between your fingers while you clickity-clack the octagonal corners of the analog sticks.
It ain't **** that you can simply explain to someone bruh, you need it
