I dont get why the **** hes so calm about the situation, theres a fire going out of control and hes sitting there tapping it with cardboard boxes, he needed to man up and start stomping it out and maybe put the cardboard over the fire and start jumping on the cardboard. You have to work playing loads of hours a day usually the new popular games and you have to be careful not to offend the 13 year olds you have as viewers. I don't think it's worth it even if they make as much money as you think

I'm sure there was a downloadable recreation of their SoI map made available a few years ago. Someone must have gone frame by frame through each of the videos and built it all.

They were doing that facebook cover photo thing earlier this year where the wall was getting more repaired every month or so. What was that leading to, if not the return of SoI, and then - nothing.

You can be sure that SoI will return one day... when the Yogscast need some quick cash.

Yeah their "The server got corrupted" excuse is kind of starting to wear thin. You'd think by now they'd know to make backups if that was a constant problem. I mean the latest one was Druidz regrowth, so I just take it instead to mean "we got bored".

I do still watch their stuff, I download their videos and put them on my android tablet, then watch them will on the toilet.

Now that I think about it I'm not sure that Pewdiepie really does Minecraft let's plays. I only remember seeing a video of him playing that slenderman game.

As much as I'd love to make millions of dollars a year sitting and playing games I'd have to imagine it gets boring after a long time. Even PewDiePie says he's grown tired of acting it up on camera and playing games, but he's locked himself into the position because it's his only source of income.

Hell, he lives in London. For 12 million it's not THAT expensive to live there. He's one of the most recognizable people on the internet. If he wanted to give up the daily let's plays, he could absolutely do it, do nothing for like, 10 years, and still make millions.

I'll never understand the fascination people have with watching video of someone playing a video game... (the only time it's ever been of interest to me is when i'm grabbing old ps2 games for a dollar online and want to see a minute or two of gameplay just to get an idea of what kinda game it is)

but at the same time I can also watch someone sit infront of a screen and produce a beat...so, different strokes for different folks and such

SImply to say, it is just entertaining. I don't get the appeal of watching television shows or movies either but to those who enjoy it, it is just entertaining.

There is really no rhyme or reason to these kinds of things. You see someone play a game, you enjoy it, and that's it. You continue watching even though realistically it is a waste of time.

yeah see that's the thing it's not really just video game(play)... I just find most 'youtube personalities' annoying. I go to youtube basically 95% for the music (5% for the documentaries and **** )

I can agree to a certain extent that some "personalities" are annoying. But that is only because their job is to entertain people and they are doing it in their own way which just so happens to annoy some people.

Different people have different tastes and hobbies. The world would be rather boring if everyone likes the same thing.

Yeah I know, I definitely learned that with music because even in my genre - rap - there's such polar opposites when it comes to styles and interests in the genre. (ie: some people like the lyrical underground **** and some just want the catchy radio jingles lol) but the keyword in my sentiments was "I"

The tldr of this is just me saying personally I don't like that **** haha.. But, that's just not my kind of entertainment. Some people like watching courtroom TV shows, some prefer Oprah...and some like me would rather just put on a ******* Simpsons re-run and not listen to any 'camera personality' lol you know?

I just don't have the interest and patience to watch TV shows but i can sit for an hour or so listening to people talk while they play video games.

Most of the time i actually just let the video run and i listen to the audio while i play mobile games. Some youtubers does have interesting stories to tell and some are just annoying. But to each his own.

I mostly do it when a console exclusive comes out as I only own a PC and thus can't buy the game. Or when something new comes out and I want to check it out before I buy it, but actually in that case I prefer downloading it from piratebay, testing it and then deciding because how it feels is more important than how it looks, especially if it's played by a person with different gameplay preferences. And I don't mind waiting for a few weeks before they release a cracked version, so whatever.

Oh, I see, a nostalgia gamer. Being born in '96, my deepest nostalgia are the first Harry Potter games and GTAs, so I'm not really able to compare your feeling to mine. But I agree that COD has gone to **** . Repetitive and uninteresting. But there are some really good new games too. I personally prefer story-based games so Dragon Age: Origins is my jam.

I mostly just watch compilations of funny/impressive moments. Normally it's GTA 4, the physics in that game were just beautiful. GTAV doesn't even begin to top them.
Also, the AVGN or Jontron are pretty good. Then again, they're more-or-less actors

Minecraft LP'ers are annoying as **** , but it's kinda genius. Every 12-year-old loves Minecraft, and youtube is mostly made of them. Or, at least, there are enough there to make it a good view-farm. Sure, many LP'ers fail within a year, but if I wanted a flock of subscribers, Minecraft is how I'd get them.

TL;DR:
Minecraft is overrated, and that's why it's so great for business.
