I think it depends on the girl and how short the hair is. I mean, Rapunzel looks really pretty with her hair short like that, but I've seen some creepy looking short hair on chicks that did NOT look good. Basically a buzz cut....

Whats in the picture is probably the shortest i would be in Once you get to the point where it starts looking like a guys haircut it isn't attractive to me anymore. It also depends on the person, short hair generally looks good on more slim girls, but if they aren't it usually just makes them look worse in my opinion.

I'm a gorwnass man who's been forced to endure the humiliation of having his hair cut by his mother. Why? Because I've yet to find a hairdresser who understands the concept of "trim". They understand it as "time to put highlights in", "buzzcut, ************", "IVAN, BREAK OUT THE HAIR GEL! No, not that one. The 50l barrel.", "What's scissors?", "You'd look great if we braided your hair", "I'm thinking we dye it purple. NO, lavender with purple hints." and the list goes on and on and on and on. It's Hell. I've literally tried every hairdresser and barber in the city and none of them want to just trip it.

You sound extremely beta, why not just tell them you don't want any of that? It's not like they're forcing it upon you or anything. If the barber is suggesting something you don't like, just say no. Also, I've gotten my hair cut in a ******** of different countries, and hair gel has always been optional, they even ask in advance most of the time.

everyone's face when my mom cuts my hair not because barbers suck, but because she was formerly a licensed hairdresser/barber herself! Besides, I only like buzz cuts anyway so it's an easy job for her. Only reason she hasn't got her license back is that it's too expensive and not worth it (she doesn't work at a salon or anything).

I guess I got lucky- I found the one and only "hairdresser" in a 100 mile radius that knew exactly what I wanted.

Until I had a few friends that told me I should try a buzz, so I got a No. 4, and I've never looked back. I love not having to care about my hair anymore.

this might seem weird, but go to a more impoverished area! As a black guy, I have to go to the ghetto to get my haircut, because they're the only people that can give a proper trim.

in poorer areas, no one starts a barbershop expecting to give a lot of expensive ass haircuts, so they generally focus on the basics.

They don't listen. It's like they only know a single hairstyle and nothing but it. That would explain why everyone has the same haircut around here. I've only seen around 10-20 people in the entire city who had different hairstyles.

EVERY. GODDAMN. TIME. IF I hear that you are a haridresser and you do that for a living, I automatically don't trust you. They are not to be trusted.
My mother shaved my head when I was younger because I had lice and it was the most traumatizing experience as a twelve year old girl. It ****** with my self esteem and my social growth because I was picked on for it and I knew it looked funny.
I didn't let anyone touch my hair for 4 years after that, and when my dad finally dragged me in kicking and screaming the hairdresser cut pretty much half of my hair again. Another hairdresser actually cut my sister's ear whilst attempting to trim her hair, she doesn't like haircuts either now. Again, NOT TO BE TRUSTED

When did I say anything about appearances? I'm sorry I misunderstood, but as thunderkrux said, it's a lot of effort to care for long hair. That's actually why I got mine chopped off. But, I think people have a right to complain when they don't get what they paid for. For example, when I first went to get my hair cut, I wanted to donate my hair (which means it goes to making wigs for those same people that don't have hair, in this case because of chemo). The hairdresser instead chopped it off bits at a time so it was impossible to do so. Is that still bitching about appearances? Besides, if I want my hair cut a certain way, it's not the hairdresser's job to pick a different hairstyle based on his/her personal taste.

But, then again, I would rather get a friend or relative to cut mine, so if that person screws up, at least I didn't shell out $20 or more on it.

It takes a really long ******* time. It's practically an investment. Taking care of short hair is 200 times easier than taking care of long hair, so you put a lot of time and effort into making it look good, so when some stupid hairdresser cuts off all of your hair or a lot more than you want and says "teehee I think it looks better now" it makes you want to slice a bitch.
