Now there's a cool concept for a game...
**** it, better just make some flappy bird clone with microtransactions, because that's the kind of stuff that brings in the money
User avatar #21 to #2 - edgeworthy (03/03/2015) [-]
Oh, you mean Okami, or Okamiden?
User avatar #48 to #21 - captnnorway ONLINE (03/03/2015) [-]
Okami is completely different no? You draw **** and then they happen, opposed to erasing things.
User avatar #49 to #48 - edgeworthy (03/03/2015) [-]
AH, I though it was related tothe picture he posted, not the content itself.
Since they seem pretty similar.

what about the one fot the wii where you use the shadows instead of the actual object?
#74 to #2 - anon (03/03/2015) [-]
Have you tried scribblenauts?
#75 to #74 - standingbehindyou (03/03/2015) [-]
Scribblenauts is pretty cool, but it isn't in the same type of idea of this. What I meant was like indirectly editing models and playing with the idea of reversing action and consequence (in this case instead of a lack of tree meaning a lack of shadow, a lack of shadow would force a lack of tree).
Scribblenauts by what I've seen through "let's play"s and other various snippets is more like kind of a 2d garry's mod, you're just summoning whole objects.

It's not that the creators don't want to make interesting games.
It's that the people buy **** .

Man, I just downloaded the unreal engine thinking maybe I can play around with it and make something functional. Someday maybe I'll have something resembling a game and I'll make this a mechanic.
User avatar #107 to #2 - greedtheavaricious (03/03/2015) [-]
Not exactly erasing shadows, but try Nihilumbra. Great narrating, simple yet fun gameplay, lots of good stuff.
User avatar #5 to #2 - rockmanfan (03/03/2015) [-]
there's a game out there kinda like this, where the ground doesnt exist if there isnt light showing it. i forget the name though.

Do you mean Contrast, by any chance?
#19 to #5 - dkspaces (03/03/2015) [-]
Played this game a while ago. It's got a mechanic where you press a button and shadows become solid. Its name is The End: [url deleted]

Contrast, nice idea and story, alltough pretty short.

I'd recommend it when it's on sale.

I thought that when he said contrast he meant the game had nice contrast in its presentation or something. I dunno. I didn't realize that was the game's name.

....Am I the only one who thinks this could be a neat gameplay mechanic?
User avatar #46 to #35 - travishein (03/03/2015) [-]
They had a game for the wii called Lost in Shadow. Which had a shadow manipulating gameplay mechanic. Not quite "erase the shadow" more like use lights to create shadows that you could use. Pretty interesting concept...not great reviews. Trailer Sauce

Why did he start running from the tree in the first place, he was at the base of the tree, he could easily see what direction it was starting to fall in and have plenty of time to take 2 steps left

Just run perpendicular to the direction the tree is falling?
Seriously, why run with the danger? Same when someone is being chased by a car.

I'd say some fun things could happen in the resulting life he would get to live afterward.

Yes, I understand the content would be boring then. But from the character's perspective, that would be simpler.
