EP 9 kylo bin has turned a sun into a bigger star killer base and reyfinnapoe is going to go to a surface of some planet and disable the shields on that thing so they can blow it up with the help of some bearmen.

If that second line happens, I'm gonna be a little upset...I personally didn't mind the ANH similarities in TFA, they weren't that important to the character-based story, but if they do the same thing for the next two that would be pretty upsetting. Luckily, Lawrence Kasdan has stated that Rian Johnson's script for 8 is "weird". I don't know what that means specifically, but ESB isn't really "weird", so that's good.

Dude, you can't recognize it was covering for lack of creativity. The movie was **** and the similarities were to try and fool you into thinking you're watching Star Wars.
Unless they get someone who isn't afraid to use their actual creativity, we'll get the same thing all over again.

you missed my entire point, m8. If it wasn't the story that pissed you off, it would be the visuals. If it wasn't the visuals, it would be the editing. if it wasn't the editing, it would be the director and this is even if it wasn't made by JJ or Lucas . if it wasn't the director, it would be the new characters being in the movie more than the old characters. If it wasn't that, it would be something so ******* insignificant (like the color of anakin's lightsaber or the fact that Han's gun isn't the same model it was in Episode VI, or the fact that it didn't follow the old canon despite the two continuities being separate) that only the saltiest ************ alive would have an issue with it, just like the people who bitch about the prequels solely for the fact that jar jar exists.

Mad Max: Fury road, there's a good contender for best movie of 2015.
This movie is an unispired piece of **** . Perhaps you can only think of it in terms of concepts and that's why you can't tell. But if you see it and feel it, you can tell it's just a souless, recycled, money grab.

captinchikin (01/12/2016) [-] Honestly, I didn't even realize that there were similarities aside from the desert and Death Star and info-in-a-droid until my third viewing...but they're the smaller aspects of the story. The bigger aspects for me personally were the rogue stormtrooper, the father and mother trying to bring back their son, etc. JJ did have to play it safe, and after the prequels, it's really hard for me to blame him for that. The movie got generally very positive reviews, meaning the writers for 8 and 9 most likely feel a little more free than JJ did.
