Yeah but nature could have made it that you could boner at will and that your balls are above the penis.

Also nature could have made it, that an unfertilized egg is either dissolved in the uterus or goes back to where it came from to be rebuild and reused, so that there's less stress on the female body, also women could get pregnant faster.

Following the laws of evolution this would have been a much more possible outcome than the testicle model we have now.

But either way, that wouldn't happen. Getting a boner at will proves absolutely no survival or breeding advantage, so it's unlikely that would be a common trait from natural selection. And sitting on your balls isn't likely to kill you or stop you from being able to pass on your genes.

I wasn't able to find any specifics regarding testicles in particular. What I can tell you though is that what is likely to have happened is that over time, as he allowed himself to get hit over and over, very strong scar tissue began forming around his testicles which ended up protecting them from rupturing during the experiment. It's kind of similar to when you pick at a scab over and over again or fall on the same spot (ex: knees) and the scar tissue builds thicker every time.
