Elder Scrolls 16, Honey I Shrunk Indoril
I have no eyes, but I must watch you... scum. This is probably a good time to talk about why House Indoril isn't much of a player in the events of Morrowind. In 2E 896, ALMSIVI decided to sue for peace, and joined the empire of Tiber Septim in exchange for greater oversight in the governance of Morrowind and greater leeway in regards to cultural traditions. House Indoril at this point was probably the strongest of the great houses, and were staunch traditionalists. Many of the movers and shakers in House Indoril were extremely displeased with surrendering to the empire, and declared that they would rather die than submit to imperial rule. So saying, a large proportion of the house committed suicide, seeing this as more honourable than continuing. Some other members were assassinated, and House Hlaalu with the newfound support of the empire rose to prominence by murdering and claiming land from the Indoril. The remaining members of the now shattered house retreated into the ranks of the Tribunal Temple, and there they remained. Even today however, House Indoril makes a point of flaunting Imperial laws to continue their cultural traditions.

By the Nine man! There are better people to ask for a light!
The thriving canals of Vivec city. I really liked the hats of the gondola operators, but I couldn't find them anywhere. Eventually I caved in and killed one of them for their hat. I was wracked with guilt for ages afterwards.
An unnamed Dwemer. His helmet reads, as far as I can decipher: "LOREX BOII?" Some of these runes are best guess, as the artist hasn't been very clear with them. Despite the common parlance name for the Dwemer being Dwarves, it is probable that they were about the same height as the other Elven clans. They also, as depicted, almost certainly looked much the same as the other Aldmeri offshoot peoples, as no major magical event had occurred to change them drastically. The beards, for example, are more a cultural affectation than a genetic predisposition.

Vivec and Almalexia. Scheming as usual I have no doubt. Look, if there's one thing you shouldn't do, it's trust ALMSIVI. Those guys are about as reliable as the theoretical offspring of Sheogorath and Sanguine.

Okay, so we saw this one yesterday, so you know the context of the image. Which means that today we can focus more on the respective clothing of the two cultures we see before us. The Chimer at this point are still very much Velothi, with fairly simply adorned clothing, still seeking the aesthetic ideal of the prophet Veloth, who viewed Nirn as a trial to be overcome, rather than the more common Mer view of a prison to be escaped.
The Dwemer garb is damn near unadorned, an excellent study in function over form, the reason everything looks like a circuit board is that to an extent is almost certainly is. The Dwemer clung to science at the exclusion of magic like a babe to a tit.

Sotha Sil and Divyath Fyr deep in discussion. Let's not disturb them, it is unwise to interrupt two exceptionally powerful wizards.

A portrait of Sotha Sil, the third part of ALMSIVI (He's the "SI" bit).
Tomorrow there may very well not be a comp, as it's looking to be a thoroughly packed day for me. Sunday will definitely have a comp, though probably not a terribly weighty one. On Monday, however, we will take a look at Yokuda and why the Redguards are wandering around Tamriel.
Hope you guys enjoy!
