Edumacation

These are sup , not silencers.
Supressors supress the sound and flash resulting from a gunshot.
No firearm is completely silent.
This (an ) is not an assault weapon
or an assault rifle.
Assault weapon" is an arbitrary and deceptive term designed to
demonize modern sporting rifles or any other firearm that appears
scary or otherwise in design, regardless of actual function.
Proponents of "assault weapon" bans have yet to come up with
a rigid definition, primarily because there is none since they made it up.
Assault Rifle" is a term used to describe any
rifle which fills in the role between a submachine
gun and a true rifle. All assault rifles are fully automatic by definition,
however fully automatic firearms are restricted under the NFA and FAPA.
s are not fully automatic and cannot be easily converted into one.
Handguns
Revolvers
Pistols are not revolvers and revolvers are not pistols.
Handgun' can refer to either.
This is a MAGAZINE, not a clip.
They do not mean the same thing.
Clip is not slang for magazine, it is a completely
different device altogether and is not interchangeable
with a magazine. Saying clip instead of magazine
isnt colloquialism, its simply incorrect terminology.
also makes you sauna} like a dumbass)
Round of Ammunition
Bullet" refers only to the projectile,
not the entire cartridge.
lull-
These are not bullets.
Any questions?

How does the "caliber" system work?

For example, what is a "caliber", and what are the differences between a fifty caliber and a 22 caliber, for example?

There's so much butthurt... This was an attempt to be "politically correct." Those complaining, have a kleenex.

The word silencer was trademarked by a company who made suppressors just as a tissue company called kleenex coined the term kleenex.

Clip loads a magazine, and bullets are extracted from the magazine to be fired in the gun.

do you fire 100% of the bullet, because that would be 65% more bullet per bullet

So... suppressors that suppress sound and make gunshots bit quieter should not be called silencers? also no shit that no firearm is silent, even bow makes a sound

User avatar #71 to #53 - planetpluto (06/13/2014) [-]
There's a company called silencer, they make suppressors. It's how the company kleenex make tissues and people now call tissues kleenex.

A post about firearms that doesn't deal with bias and only attempts to educate people so they stop running around spouting false information?

But honestly, anyone that says an "assault weapons" ban should be enacted, PLEASE message me so I can give you unbiased info on why that's wrong.
"Assault Rifles" on the other hand are a real thing and require a LOT of work and TONS on money to get, hardly anyone has one.

Is there anything in the world less interesting than ammosexual's obsession with firearm terminology?

If magazine and clip are different, what is a clip? I always thought they were the same

We get it, you like your guns. But really, nobody needs an assault rifle. I don't get how people can say something specifically designed to kill as many people/things as fast as possible, and then get shocked when they're used to kill a bunch of people.

Anon, you're right. No civilian needs an assault rifle/weapon. This is why they are illegal to own in the U.S. unless you go through all the proper channels/legal shit to get a tax stamp The AR in AR-15 stands for "ArmaLite"

A lot of areas have problems with feral hogs/prairie dogs. Feral hogs will charge you and can cause massive amounts of damage. A rifle capable of firing multiple subsequent shots is a necessity to avoid injury by a charging hog. Prairie dogs are numerous and having a light caliber rifle with little recoil with the ability to fire rapidly is a necessity. These two examples cause millions of dollars in damage on crops alone in the U.S. "Pimentel et al. (2005) estimated that wild pigs cause $800 million in damage to agriculture and the environment annually in the United States." You need to login to view this link
