Don't believe the myths, you can do that here in the US as well. I spent a few months in a homeless shelter, wasn't too bad.

Well yea, were I broke I could have filed for welfare, we have that as well. in my situation it wasn't practical, seeing as I volunteered there and it was just a staying there until I could move into my new apartment Will cover your rent and food...I don't know why people assume that you just kinda die here in the US if you lose your job or can't find work. You have to live on the line, but it's not like you just die in the streets.

Well then, i guess i am not very well informed on the subject then, in Denmark it is simply impossible to be homeless, unless you specifically choose to be so, and the government kinda strikes down on you if you don't have a job, so not having a job is also hard..

That's ok, I've traveled many places in Europe and found that a lot of people think that about the US, so no harm done. We have a welfare system, so it's quite hard to be homeless... the problem (I'd imagine this happens in Denmark as well) is that some people spend the money that was suppose to go towards rent of drugs or something of that nature. It's also supposed to be a temporary fix, not a long term solution, but some people simply don't want to work and suck the funds right out of the system.

I think we could learn a lot from the welfare systems of several of the European countries, but on the other hand the US is so large it becomes more difficult to manage.

The thing about welfare here is, that you're techinally not allowed to own anything, Everything belongs to the bank / government. You're forced to send out a set minimum number of job applications every week and such. You're basically not allowed to do nothing. In my opinion the welfare is too high here, people who sit on their ass all day long can live a very decent life without moving a finger. Our government needs to be replaced, They're red (socialist / communism ****) but they are using blue politics because it's only thing that works lol..

Well that is a problem then, at least here if you want to not do anything then you're not going to get too much from others lol

That could have different effects I suppose...some people don't care what others think of them because they're too bitter or angry to care.

It's good either way, but the grilling (if it's done over wood, anyway) cuts out the tangy kick of it and cooks the sugars. Imagine the difference between strawberries and strawberry jam, and that's close to the idea. Or apples and apple pie.
