NASA researchers found a way
to visualize a sonic boom. This
image was created by using a
technique called Schlimmer imaging,
which allows us to see shock
waves by visualizing fluids
and gases that can' t be viewed
with the naked eye.

put your dick in it

The induction coil uses eddy currents and hysteresis losses to heat objects, only ferromagnetic materials have those in large enough quantities to matter, so as long as you didn't put a piece of ferromagnetic material (such as steel) in your dick before inserting it into the induction coil, it wouldn't be harmed.

The heat from the metal bar very well could have burned him from that distance.

i wonder, dicks contain lots of blood, blood has iron.
hmm
User avatar #64 to #30 - lovot (09/20/2015) [-]
Only elemental iron and other ferromagnetic materials are affected by induction coils. The iron inside you is combined with enough junk that it wouldn't care.

eh....one man one jar? This one's pretty ******* funny: Cake farts 1 man 1 icepick? 1 man 1 screwdriver also, pretty much all uthera sounding
User avatar #37 to #32 - destismad (09/18/2015) [-]
For anyone wondering, the spoiler is comments on gore videos. Just a warning. I've seen one man one jar, eh. Cake Farts was sorta funny, I guess. One man one icepick, or apparently one lunatic one icepick, was one of the most extreme things I've ever seen. One man one screwdriver was the same guy as one man on jar, and pretty similar, just a different hole really. Urethral sounding is something I don't think I'll ever be trying. Pretty neat I guess, but I still have yet to find something that could seriously disturb me, which is what I'm looking for.

Let's assume for a moment that I'm a massive pansy who doesn't particularly want to google that but still wants to know what he means by a Prince Albert. What would I find?
User avatar #17 to #16 - rockergamer ONLINE (09/18/2015) [-]
a hoop piercing at the end of your dick
User avatar #18 to #17 - Hreidmar (09/18/2015) [-]
...I see. That's not as gruesome as I thought it would be, but... why? Apart from a painful operation, it must be a logistical nightmare...

Thank you very much for the response.
User avatar #36 to #17 - vigilum (09/18/2015) [-]
Not even the sexy kind of dick piercing, yet it sounds like the most painful
why would anyone
#5 to #2 - animesource ONLINE (09/18/2015) [-]
Nothing will happen. Works only with inductive metals.
#6 to #5 - dorg (09/18/2015) [-]
**dorg used "*roll picture*"**
**dorg rolled image** Actually you have some amount of metal inside your body, I don't know however if it is enough to cause any reaction nor if it is still conductive when bounded into things like hemoglobin. Chemistry and biology is simply not my area of expertise even though I dare say I know some stuff.

The lightbulb one shows you how shekel grabbing some companies are. From the beginning we have been able to produce light bulbs there were fairly efficient and almost never burnt out, but the companies decided if we had a light bulb that lasted too long it would hurt their profits. Instead the found a way to make a light bulb that lasts just long enough and then fails so that we have to keep buying a few packs every year or so verses just having a once or twice in a life time trip to get light bulbs
User avatar #15 to #10 - acebuck (09/18/2015) [-]
Is the only reason they engineer and produce longer lasting bulbs to compete with other company's?

You're a god damned retard.
User avatar #44 to #42 - mattdoggy (09/19/2015) [-]
i disagree anon
there have actually been productions of long lasting lightbulbs but no company can fund them. The problem is they cost a buck or two to make but there's no reasonable price you can sell them for. Once you sell one to a person they don't need anymore and there's no more money to be made. A lot of companies that made grade products that wouldn't break or go out of style ended up going out of business because of that.
#14 to #10 - anon (09/18/2015) [-]
Yes but also notice how much dimmer that light bulb is than modern ones (newer bulbs were brighter, but this meant the filament had to get hotter, which meant it failed much faster), and even so, nowadays we have LEDs, which are even more efficient.
User avatar #19 to #10 - zomaru (09/18/2015) [-]
Not true, That lightbulb uses a filiment that burns much lower temperature, I lasts nearly forever but it puts off very little light.

The ones we use today put off a lot of light, but in doing so burn up much quicker.
If you want a bulb that lasts a long time, get the LED ones, they seemingly never go out.

Swell with Eddy Currents, Lenz's and Faraday's Laws
#46 to #26 - selfdenyingbeggar (09/19/2015) [-]
can you explain the effect?
User avatar #57 to #46 - mrwillje (09/19/2015) [-]
Well, the laws are connected in a way. Faraday"s law states that any change in magnetic flux (flux means flow, so in a way it means magnetic field strength) in a coil of wire will induce a current in that wire. This is usually done by introducing a magnet near to that coil. Lenz's law is that the current induced in the wire itself produces a magnetic field of a certain polarity to oppose the one which created it by faraday's law. Lenz's law isnt that important in understanding this. The coil in the gif acts as the magnet in my explanation of faraday's law. There is an ac current flowing through the coil, making it an electromagnet with a changing magnetic field (since it's ac, its polarity reverses x times a second). When a metal object is introduced into the coil's magnetic field, faraday's law takes effect and a current is induced in that piece of metal. The resistance of that metal is why it gets red hot. Sorry if any of this is off, i was tested on it more than 3 months ago! The only reason why i mentioned lenz's law is bevause its a big rule of electric fields and it related to the gif somewhat.
#59 to #57 - selfdenyingbeggar (09/19/2015) [-]
Ohhhh thanks. i wouldn't know if it was wrong but it did make me understand how it could be heated like that

This is not completely correct. Elvis and his wife took private lessons from Ed Parker. I studied under Grandmaster Brent Thompson, one of Ed Parkers students who recently died Grandmaster Parker took a trip to Hawaii and then they had to study under one of Ed Parker's higher up students. and there was a fuss about his wife wearing a black Gi (uniform) and through a big argument, Elvis's wife went to Chuck Norris for training, and she started training under Mike Stone, who she then started sleeping with.

So she did not sleep with Elivs's Karate instructor, who was Ed Parker. She started sleeping with another instructor that had nothing to do with Elvis or Ed Parker.
