The people that make these must be getting desperate as hell.
"Did you know? My friend Todd went to McDonald's the other day and ordered 20 McNuggets, but when he received his order he found out that he'd gotten 21."

Yeah and the ones that are just blatantly advertising a product. I dunno if those are desperate or endorsed though.

On the second one, surely the harsh environment of Afghanistan would cause the aging on the skin like that? All the sun and sand storms can't be good for your skin.

User avatar #47 to #22 - clannadqs (10/01/2015) [-]
What? The majority of people that deploy want to go back. I have yet to see anyone in my unit that has deployed not want to go back and they show literally no signs of depression or PTSD. Pretty sure she just caught him at a bad time or something and of course you're going to look like ***** on deployment. "Hey bud, I know you just slept out in the field for a week getting an hour of sleep each night, but cum herrr and get a photo fag". Of course you will look bad.
User avatar #58 to #47 - scowler (10/01/2015) [-]
Why would they want to go back? I get that it's what they signed up for but still...
User avatar #79 to #58 - alexithymic (10/02/2015) [-]
Now this doesn't nexessarily apply to everyone obviously as it's only the opinion of a few marines I've talked to but they wanted to go back because it felt like they were doing **** all back in the States. They were bored working here and wanted to go do something.
User avatar #83 to #79 - scowler (10/02/2015) [-]
Makes sense.

I haven't even done anything and I'm ******* bored.
User avatar #94 to #83 - clannadqs (10/02/2015) [-]
Yeah, it's normally what he just said. Plus you get more pay when you deploy.
User avatar #95 to #94 - scowler (10/02/2015) [-]
I know. All the more reason to enlist.

Hey, do they do background checks on medical? I heard they didn't unless an issue came up.
User avatar #96 to #95 - clannadqs (10/02/2015) [-]
From my understanding, no. I didn't have anything to really worry about except I used to take a massive amount of ADHD medication when I was younger for years. I'm still pretty sure you can't do that. I know a few people that have blatantly lied to get in. I'm pretty sure even if they lie to get in about random **** you still won't get into that much trouble. From my understanding they just don't pay for your **** . For example, if you had a knee surgery and you don't tell them about it and you **** your knee up during training and ask for them to pay for it they will look into your medical history. If they find anything about that surgery they might kick you out, but more than likely they will just not pay for your treatment/surgery. BUUTT, they still will probably kick you out. So it's a risk.
User avatar #97 to #96 - scowler (10/02/2015) [-]
So if I keep my mouth shut, I'll stand a better chance?

It's not like I'm looking at anything glorious. Coast Guard or something...
User avatar #98 to #97 - clannadqs (10/02/2015) [-]
Yeah, then you will probably be fine. I'm infantry so that's probably not something you want to pick if you are paranoid about something like that. Mind if I ask what happened?
User avatar #99 to #98 - scowler (10/02/2015) [-]
I just have a spotty psychiatric history going back to the age of ten, ADD and such, largely inconclusive. My only physical problems are Psoriasis and being slightly overweight, roughly ten pounds.

Really minor stuff, but this is a drawdown, so they'll find every excuse not to take anyone.
User avatar #100 to #99 - clannadqs (10/02/2015) [-]
Doesn't seem that bad. Seen someone get in that had a felony charge. Also, I don't know about that drawdown **** . I'm not active right now as I am attending college, but my unit is literally begging people to come in and not leave. Being in and seeing it, I have some input that outsiders don't really see. While we are cutting back on some aspects of our forces, it really isn't effecting the individuals in. The thing is, there are two things that offset themselves:
1. The government wants less in due to peace
2. People in the military want out due to peace

So, our unit is literally scavenging for people to re-enlist because no one wants to stay in and due gay **** at the garrison for two or three more ******* years, you feel me?
User avatar #101 to #100 - clannadqs (10/02/2015) [-]

User avatar #102 to #100 - scowler (10/02/2015) [-]
Yeah. A lot of people with felonies were getting in just after 9/11. Enlistment quotas, right? And yeah, I understand. Which is why I'm looking into the Coast Guard or Navy instead.
User avatar #107 to #102 - clannadqs (10/02/2015) [-]
I had a guy that showed up two or three times when I was at the office of my recruiter. He failed the ASVAB like five times and the recruiter was still trying to get him waivered in and **** .
User avatar #111 to #107 - scowler (10/02/2015) [-]
Do you need a Diploma or GED to enlist, or do they generally just haul you off to MEPS for the ASVAB?
User avatar #113 to #111 - clannadqs (10/02/2015) [-]
100% need a diploma or GED. There is no way getting around that one.
User avatar #114 to #113 - scowler (10/02/2015) [-]
Figured as much. Heard a story that contradicted it, so I thought I'd ask.
User avatar #118 to #114 - clannadqs (10/02/2015) [-]
Yeah, for some reason my dumbass recruiter didn't put my diploma in my documents when I went to MEPs (military enlistment processing) and they legit told me to come back a different day even when I promised them I graduated and he could have it in later that day. I even tried to show them random stuff to prove I did. Pissed me the hell off because you have to be there all day no matter what even if the thing you have to do takes two seconds.
User avatar #119 to #118 - scowler (10/02/2015) [-]
Yeah. Always the little things.
User avatar #106 to #102 - clannadqs (10/02/2015) [-]
Yeah, but it's a little better now than it used to be. Don't know too much about recruiting as I just dealt with it as much as I had to and got the **** away from them, but from my understanding they have quotas they have to meet to maintain their job. Being a recruiter isn't an actual job in the Army isn't like other jobs. There aren't schools from my understanding. You can literally have any job (infantry, mechanic, engineer, etc) and become a recruiter. Back in the day they got paid more based off of how many people they got to join so they lied to everyone and let everyone join by lying. Now they just have to meet mediocre quotas so after they get close to them they stop letting ******** get in. You should be fine though.
User avatar #110 to #106 - scowler (10/02/2015) [-]
Alright, then.
User avatar #112 to #110 - clannadqs (10/02/2015) [-]
Yeah, good luck man. Everyone in other branches that are active never have too bad of a time. You legit just ******* around until you're off and then go jack off in your dorm or something. Plus, not having to pay for anything and just save up money for a few years is amazing.

According to the CDC, you can cut 300 calories on average by not eating pizza

#54 to #31 - klutzyspy (10/01/2015) [-]
300 calories is literally nothing.. rather have pizza then
User avatar #65 to #31 - tevansroskos (10/02/2015) [-]
That's assuming a normal person eats only one slice of pizza. A piece of cheese pizza can contain anywhere from 200-300 calories depending on where you get it from. Most of the time people eat 3-4 pieces. Now add toppings and we're talking 400-800 calories per piece. For a 6' male weighing 160lb their bmr is about 2kcal. Pizza is really, really, bad for you. Still gonna eat it though.

35 calories? Wow, that's a whole 1/100th of a pound.

No one should care about calories unless its over 100, in my opinion. It's like no one should care if their weight changes by less than five pounds. I mean if you're trying to lose weight, small victories like these count and help motivate people to keep trying, but if you're average than updating your facebook with "omg lost 2 pounds" is stupid. you lose that much on an average bowel movement.
User avatar #82 to #76 - nudybooty (10/02/2015) [-]
Well I mean a lot of people have 3+ slices.

Today I ate a whole bag of weight watchers 50cal candies. Oh my god they were good.
#90 to #82 - therealkakashi (10/02/2015) [-]
I feel like that's saying you can cut 100 calories by wiping the whipped cream off of a 5,000 calorie cake and then eating the whole thing. You get where I'm coming from?
User avatar #91 to #90 - nudybooty (10/02/2015) [-]
I understand that but I mean if you're trying to be healthy, or you are healthy but you don't want to change your diet that much and you're having a night out, every little bit counts. I have a friend who lost weight doing that, she didn't change her diet that much, she just change tiny things. When we did have greasy food, she's dab it, would get lattes without all the cream ontop, drank 2% milk instead, wouldn't drink the full can of soda/pop. The little things really do add up.

#92 to #91 - therealkakashi (10/02/2015) [-]
I suppose I'm just knocking the effectiveness of it, rather than saying it's not effective at all. Losing two pounds a week isn't a big deal, but if you keep doing that for a year you've basically lost 100 pounds, which is a big deal.
User avatar #93 to #92 - nudybooty (10/02/2015) [-]
Just a little bit. But I do agree with you it's kinda pointless at the same time. Other than her, the only people I see dab their pizza are really fat people who eat like 5 slices then drink like a liter of soda/pop with it.
