First gen was lame. You don't think so? In that generation there were 6 of pokemon that evolved just to have more heads. There were 2 pokemon that were literal **** . It had the worst pikachu rip-off seriously though just let dedenne evolve into raichu and **** everything else. and no refinement.
All of those reasons are just technical issues, glitches and imbalances though...
they arent issues with the actual gameplay, story, music or graphics for its time.
the story was straight forward and open, it wasent like a big amazing adventure but it still felt like YOUR journey.
music and graphics were good compared to the limitations.
as for the gameplay, some of the biggest issues were definitly the inability to collect all the pokemons in a single game, you HAD to have other people to trade with in order to fill the pokedex and thats just not a good mechanic...
That argument doesn't make sense.
Things improve over time. Gen1 was successful because it was a unique concept, not because it was polished or competitive. There was just nothing else to compare it to.
Toxic reverting is still that way (could you seriously imagine trying to get to a Pokemon Center while your Pokemon constantly kept losing double the damage each step?)
And Freeze should still be that way, it's ******* stupid that so few moves can barely inflict it, yet it can be thawed by chance that same turn. It's the lowest chance of any of the non-volatile statuses, and Haze creates a mist, something that can be generated by melting ice and steaming water, since it removes all the opponents stat changes and works that way it actually makes sense
And I'm not sure if the Blizzard accuracy thing is because its too high or too low, but its like 60% now, and 100% in Hail, so there's that.
Toxic reverting to regular is still true, It's called badly poisoned now, Poison Fang and double layers of Toxic Spikes can inflict it as well. It also appears as a darker Purple symbol with like yellowish text.
If you're the type of pokemon fan to wish that Aggron, Gallade, Blaziken, and Scizor didn't exist, then I don't want anything to do with you to be honest.
Funny you should mention Scizor, as originally there was going to be another 50 pokemon in the Gen 1 games, and among those 50 were Scizor and Steelix. However, due to time constraints the planned implementation of the steel type in Gen 1 was cancelled, and the placeholder data for those fifty pokemon that didn't make the initial cut (but were eventually added in Gen 2) became the various "Missingnos".
