False attribution is a big problem when it comes to famous quotes:
Bill Gates, nope never happened
Ken Olson, out of context, he meant a computer having total control of the house and utilities with cameras and voice activation. I mean, at the time the guy even HAD a home computer.
T. Craven, I actually can't find this one outside of "look at these dumb predictions" lists. It seems ridiculous that a guy appointed by the president, who likely had military radio experience would make such a claim. The varying nature of the quite leads me to believe there is no real source.
Napoleon, Robert Fulton (the guy who designed said steamship) built a working submarine for Napoleon. I mean they tested the damn ship on the Seine upstream. It has the same problem as T. Craven, there's no source other than infamous internet lists.

Steven Hawking said (and bet $100) that scientists would never actually find the Higg's Boson. Just goes to show that even the smartest people are sometimes wrong.

Also here's a pic of Steven Hawking on that Zero Gravity flight for your enjoyment.

I remember hearing about a manager of a patent office in the early 1900s who resigned because he thought "everything had already been invented".
It's amazing how things we once thought impossible are now common everyday things. Imagine what it'll be like in 50 or 100 years.

I think it's the thought on steam/coal driven boats, which would later spawn boats with engine.

The idea that sailing is the only way to move a boat.
But, I could be wrong...I'm just guessing.

Really, it's not that unbelievable. If I was some dude in the past before the use of electricity was discovered, I would never believe it. I would look up in the rainy sky and think that the ****** who messes with that lightning is an idiot.
