The message makes perfect sense.

But the girl just ruined it.

This is absolute Non-sense. Nothing more than fear-spreading Conspiracy theory.

"It simply doesn’t make sense that pharmaceutical companies would want to suppress a potential cure. Finding a highly effective therapy would guarantee huge worldwide sales.

And the argument that treatments can’t be patented doesn’t hold up. Pharma companies are not stupid, and they are quick to jump on promising avenues for effective therapies. There are always ways to repackage and patent molecules, which would give them a return on the investment required to develop and test them in clinical trials (a cost that can run into many millions) if the treatment turns out to work.

It’s also worth pointing out that charities such as Cancer Research UK and government-funded scientists are free to investigate promising treatments without a profit motive. And it’s hard to understand why NHS doctors – who often prescribe generic, off-patent drugs – wouldn’t use cheap treatments if they’d been shown to be effective in clinical trials"

You can NOT "cure" a symptom of a depressed immune system ,years of unhealthy living , radiation causing abnormal cells, a body slowly losing all the enzymes it needs to keep it healthy and a shit ton of other stuff. people make out cancer is a fucking math problem Cancer is 2 + 2 = ? with ? being the magical fucking cure we find out and BOOM no more of this cancer for the rest of our pretty fucking lives

This is such bullshit. There are thousands of people across the world working hard to figure out how to cure cancer, which isn't just one disease but an entire class of diseases each with a different cure, and this stupid bitch thinks companies or the government or some such thing is hiding the cure. This level of stupidity makes me genuinely angry

Well despite the stupid tapes she is right. Only fools or incredibly naive ppl would think that the harmaceutical industries would give up billions of dollars for common ppl.
When was the last time a US president or any famously wealthy person died of cancer or at least got cancer and had to go through cemo and crap like that?

Well, Patrick Swayze died of cancer. So did Steve Jobs.
And politicians? Ted Kennedy, James Francis O'Neill, Ned Ray McWherter, Geraldine Anne Ferraro, Steve Lampi and James Creswell Gardner.

I listened to someone with tape on their face once... It was TEARable.

User avatar #75 - fyaq (03/28/2014) [-]
Yes, steve jobs could not afford cancer treatment.

Steve Jobs. That is all.

this kind of shit pisses me off
this one especialy because my mother works in a lab where they research cancer with the sole aim of finding a cure
this person is basicaly out and out accusing my mum of being a selfish money grabbing asshole even who is purposfully withholding a cure which could save lives
when in actuality she is in that damn lab working more then 8 hours a day and likely doing more work and impact in a weak then this waste of space does in her entire lifetime
im just glad people like this only exist in the US
here in fucking sensible countries where we have national healthcare we dont get shit like this because a healthy life is a right here not a damn privalige gained by money
User avatar #50 to #48 - icda (03/28/2014) [-]
Calm the fuck down, she is not saying all people working on cancer research are part of some big money grabbing conspiracy. It is a possibility that some company has found the cure, but is withholding it for financial gain.

Funny that I've just read this saying otherwise. And why the hell is she wearing that shit on her face.? www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/don%E2%80%99t-believe-hype-%E2%80%93-10-persistent-cancer-myths-debunked

it pays more to treat a disease than it does to cure it
User avatar #80 - riddlerenigma (03/28/2014) [+] (1 reply)
She does have a point. I heard that Canadian doctors found to cure to cancer but aren't aloud to release because it cost less than a chocolate bar to produce and so their would be no profit in it.
User avatar #32 - mrhazzy (03/28/2014) [-]
Either way, Payments for medical treatment are going to get more expensive. Cure or not.
User avatar #30 - painfulpain (03/28/2014) [+] (4 replies)
But the money that could be made from marketing 'the cure' would be astronomical. considering there are countless seperate organisations collecting donations they would all be scared shitless another organisation would find it first because all their cashflow would stop. But the organisation who does find it first reeps the benefit while the others dissolve. So i beleive they are still searching and hopefully one day we will have an affordable cure
