Sometimes I want to join the KKK, but not because I'm white supremacist or anything, it's because they have titles like High Wizard and Grand Dragon and people take them seriously. I could have people calling me High Wizard, completely seriously and. Usually you would have to pay a prostitute for something like that.

This comic hasn't made sense for two years, it was relevant and kinda sorta true 2 full years ago but now it's just railing on EA for something that's... not really a thing?

But also even when this comic was relevant the parallel it's drawing doesn't really make any sense, I mean yeah sure obviously the whole KKK versus SOPA thing is a pretty overblown hyperbole to begin with but aside from that the KKK are really all about racism and discrimination and aren't really about anything else, the ESA has a much broader range of interests, interests that most of can actually kind of agree on.
Sure SOPA was ******* stupid, it was written by someone who really had no idea how anything he was dealing with worked. someone with an outside perspective that believed he understood the big picture so he didn't have to worry about the details and it is ESA's fault for not reading it very clearly or considering its implications when they said they supported it, but bedeviling EA because they support a group who 'supported' a ****** half baked plot to stop online piracy is kind of stupid, especially 2 ******* years after the fact.

The only way this parallel is accurate is if you're not you weren't against SOPA because it was grossly broken and would pretty much destroy freedom on the internet but because on some level or another it was trying to stop online piracy.

being a part of a group doesnt mean you have to support all their policies, take political parties for example, im a member of one, yet ofcourse i dont support all their policies and their beliefs are not by default my beliefs, they are simply the party who i think will best represent the majority of my interests, same with EA and the ESA, just because they are a member doesnt mean you support everything the group says or does.

EA has a fair point and this comic is a dumb analogy

This is like saying that as an American I clearly support every single decision all of y Presidents make every time because that's the person that has been chosen to represent the people of America to the world.

...No, it's not.

The Klan's primary goal is to """"support white rights,"""" where as the ESA's primary goal is electronic safety. If the Klan's secondary goal was to support black rights I'm almsot certain most of it's members wouldn't support that.
