well military hardware is designed to be rugged and durable, and it takes a lot of time and money to figure out how to make it rugged. it's not some little RC plane that they took off of a toys r us shelf, it took some serious R&D.

No it is not. It is a hoax by a webdesigner. It clearly reads:_ © 2000-2015 Destino AS. All rights reserved._ which belongs to a webdesigner who wants attention and jobs.

probably the 2 miles part

Considering the US militairy frequently fires of 90k Javelin missiles to destroy a single target, i think 40k on a reusable item, that might actually save some lives with good intel might not be that bad.
#20 to #7 - timecop (11/27/2015) [-]
and on that note those 90k missles take out tanks that have way more value so its a win
User avatar #21 to #20 - gottobeskippy (11/27/2015) [-]
usually to the tune of 5 to 10 million dollars a tank if its a big boy main battle tank
User avatar #17 - commanderbunbun (11/27/2015) [-]
not the first thing that weighs 18 grams and costs $40k
User avatar #12 - pillsmakeitgrow (11/27/2015) [-]
That may be so, but it isn't wallet salt

battery time?
User avatar #23 to #18 - ninesundev ONLINE (11/27/2015) [-]
Not to be rude, but this site looks like a giant hoax.
18 grams is way to few for this size.
GPS + Steerable Cam + 2 Rotors + Remote control + Chipset to control everything
There is no way to get all that + A battery strong enough for 25 minutes of mission time.

Also they call it inaudible. There is no way a drone is inaudible. Rotors are loud as **** . Especially with a smaller wingspan as they have to spin faster an create more noise. Like fans in you pc: The bigger they are the quiter they get.

But hey. It says "© 2000-2015 Destino AS. All rights reserved." in the 8 line of source code. He is just a webdsigner and pr adjutant.

You got hoaxed.

To every one: THIS IS A HOAX.

i have no idea mate sounded legit to me
User avatar #29 to #27 - ninesundev ONLINE (11/27/2015) [-]
I am not sure any more. But is looks suspicious as **** to me.
Also the "silent"-claim got disproved by this video. Ok a warzone is loud, but I would recognize this thing within 5 meters around me.
User avatar #30 to #29 - filipasalucard [OP](11/27/2015) [-]
yes but the idea is not to come next to you.... plus compared to quads and other drones is relatively silent.. for something that weighs 18 grams to fly, you don't need a jet engine
User avatar #31 to #30 - ninesundev ONLINE (11/29/2015) [-]
Another problem came to my mind this weekend:

You have 2 of those, but are you flying them back to you, revealing your position to the enemy, searching for them after the fight or just leaving them behind?
User avatar #32 to #31 - filipasalucard [OP](11/30/2015) [-]
i thought you've forgotten about me :3
User avatar #33 to #32 - ninesundev ONLINE (11/30/2015) [-]
Nope, but weekend is reserved for family. No smartphone and almost no computer.
User avatar #34 to #33 - filipasalucard [OP](12/01/2015) [-]
i cant believe it, i almost said that's a good idea
User avatar #35 to #34 - ninesundev ONLINE (12/01/2015) [-]
Makes the weekend a lot more peaceful.
One more tip: Cut down the news. Seriously, cut down the news. Only once a week and the life gets an awful lot better. News make you sick. Test it.
User avatar #36 to #35 - filipasalucard [OP](12/01/2015) [-]
well i never watch news, rarely any tv at all tbh... but till no internet will be too much
User avatar #37 to #36 - ninesundev ONLINE (12/02/2015) [-]
Ok, tbh Netflix does not count in the "no internet rule".
But no mails, social networks, news or any other sites that are not netflix
User avatar #38 to #37 - filipasalucard [OP](12/02/2015) [-]
i can give it a go you know... offline gaming, warm and good food, silence...
now just to convince my gf to stop calling for the weekend without she beheading me for not wanting to talk to her or something like that

I'm gonna have to agree. Regardless of whether it's technologically feasible, I called the phone number provided and did not even get an automated answering service.
User avatar #28 to #26 - ninesundev ONLINE (11/27/2015) [-]
Did a little more research, and if this is really hoax they put a awful lot effort in it.
Maybe I am wrong. Maybe. but the claims still sounds pretty unrealistic

That's cool but there are even cooler ones in field testing right now.
Essentially they are bombs attached to heli-drones and they fly in flocks autonomously and then carpet bomb targets.

theres also ones that get dropped from planes that are intelligent versions of that jericho missile from Iron Man.

even cooler still they are working on drones that function like the ones from Ghost Recon, allowing soldiers to view heat signatures and mark targets using a HUD attached to their helmet, essentially allowing them to see through walls, or entire buildings.

and thats just the **** that isnt classified out the ass, you can always assume special forces like SEAL teams have access to even better **** .

modern warfare is ******* awesome from a spectators POV, prbly sucks to be a soldier though.
