Vodka is a beautiful thing.
-You don't get terrible hangovers (when compared to other darker drinks)
-The more you drink the better it tastes
-It mixes with everything (tons of drinks to make with it)
-It's a cheap buzz with out all the calories of beer
-Easy to pass off as water (if you need to hide it for what ever reason)
-Easy to enjoy with shots or right out of the bottle
-Casual drinkers think you're hard if you drink it straight
I love vodka, it's pretty much the only thing I drink. Like you said it's cheap, get's you buzzed pretty fast, clear so you can mix it with any other clear drink and you can't smell it.
nah mate goon is love, goon is life. what are you gonna do if you party too hard to ride your kangaroo home? with a couple of goonbags you got yourself a sleeping bag, blankets and a ******* u beaut' tru blu aussie pillow. wake up the next mornin' take a charge and tell that cripplin hangover to **** right off. #goon
I really hate the flavor of most alcoholic drinks, but I don't mind the taste of vodka, it tastes like **** , but it's not a problem for me to chug vodka straight from the bottle. I'm also a lightweight and I sometimes gag when I drink beer because it tastes so ******* bad.
Basically I'm a total noob drinker, but my friends think I'm a total badass for chugging vodka. I actually overheard someone say that I had the highest alcohol tolerance in our entire circle of friends even though I get drunk from just a few beers.
What? I got terrible hangovers on vodka. I was bedridden half a day and it was so awful I now can't even smell it without getting sick. It tastes like liquified sharpie and the first time I drank it it burned my throat and it was sore for a few days after. **** vodka.
dunno'.
kinda' hate the taste of vodka, and it just gets worse the more you drink.
Mixed drinks really aren't my thing either,so I'll stick with my rum and whisky.
>casual drinkers think you're hard if you drink it straight
I can't count the number of times I've been at a party and drank straight from the bottle with no chaser and have white girls be absolutely blown away that someone could do that
... Ive been drinking vodka for 8-9 years on a regular basis and its sitll my favorite liquor ... Try the the russian standard, its a bit expensive (40$ for 26oz) but trust me, it tastes like heaven! Super smooth without the strong aftertaste!
"NO, WHISKY IS BETTER"
"NO, WHISKY IS BETTER"
"NO, VODKA IS BETTER"

They both have their moments. Whisky's a good relaxing drink that you can enjoy in front of a fireplace in the middle of winter. Vodka's the kind of drink you slam back with friends at a party to have a good time.
People need to grow up and stop bickering over which poison is more enjoyable.
As an Irishman I take offense...Only a Scotsman calls it whisky. It's Whiskey! Just an interesting note in case you didn't know, not actually annoyed "With an E is from Éire"
Nah, not particularly.
- You don't? I sure as **** do, feel a lot better after Whisky drinking.
- Literally all alcohol ever
- Yeah, cause it's flavorless
- Vodka has loads of calories, like over 4 times as much as beer, Seriously, look it up.
- So is white rum
- Like any other liquor
- Casual drinkers think you're hard if you drink anything straight, **** , they'll think you're hard if you can chug a beer.
It's a social thing mostly. Though there is alcohol is that tastes good and I personally enjoy drinking every now and again.
But mostly it's just because I'm in my mid 20s so I like to sit around and drink with my friends on my days off sometimes because it's a great way to unwind and enjoy some cooperative stupidity with friends.
I just do it to unwind after a long day or deal with stress. I've actually started to enjoy the taste of rum and coke, too. I tend to think people who don't get it are people who haven't tried it or people who've had bad experiences with it, like the kid in OP's video.
The desire to drink comes from the feeling of being drunk. It numbs your senses, warms your body, clears your mind, dulls your worries. There's a reason people have been drinking for as long as people have been baking bread. Because alcohol slowly kills you, but the way it kills you feels peaceful. There are a number of reasons people would seek out those feelings, or lack thereof.
Now, the culture that has grown up around drinking, especially relatively recently with hiphop culture and club culture and all, that's an entirely different monster that there is no good explanation for, other than people are ******* dumb.
Its a crutch for those of us who want to escape or numb our issue for a few hours, the long term effects may be negative, but we dont care, we're already two glasses in. Cheers!
I love being drunk. It gives me confidence that I lack when I'm sober, it makes me feel good about myself when I'm normally full of self-loathing.
Not meaning to sound negative, just putting out why I personally like drinking so much. Also, parties are fun. And I'm a college student, so it's expected of me.
Strong alcohol usually has a very strong taste and a burning sensation with it, even in your stomach, that takes a moment to subside. If it's your first shot of the night, especially, that sensation might wake you the **** up and cause you to shudder, shake your head, etc.
You know that feeling when you step out into the snow for the first time just after taking a shower and your whole body shakes hard for a second due to the shock of it all? It's sort of like that but with a burning sensation rather than cold. It goes away pretty soon, but sucks for a bit. That's why drinks like that usually have chasers if it's your first shot of the night, it helps get rid of that bad feeling.
And if you didn't know, a chaser is just something pleasant to drink right after your shot. It can really be anything you want from a nice beer to apple juice. Personally I like to drink ginger ale after vodka because I think it transitions really well. Most bartenders will recommend chasers based off of how well it pairs will the drink.
I honestly can't stand alcohol. ****** nasty af. I've stopped being that "You drink so I hate you" kind of dick, but I know I'll never drink it cuz every sip I've taken has tasted like a monkey's asshole.
There are some really good tasting mixed drinks out there. Hell, even something as simple as a whiskey sour can taste great if you make it properly. Or, at least, if you make it weak because you don't want to know it's alcoholic at all.
The most wasted I've ever gotten was with family and friends when I was 16. It was around a fire and we drank a ******** of stuff. Cider, Apple pie moonshine, MD 20/20, Hypnotic, an unidentified tequila, and I think cherry vodka. It was a great time.
