seatbelts are ******* useless

Technically they are. it's found that statistically not wearing a seat belt is safer then wearing one. a lot of people get broken collar bones and internal damage from seatbelts in situations when not wearing it would have resulted in less damage.
I've seen some cases where the police have attributed a life being saved because a seatbelt was not worn and the person when out the window getting minor injuries.

My two cents.

No. I personally don't remember. but when I see something interesting like that I make sure there are multiple sources claiming the same thing, and check their references. I'd personally believe it. When I was in middle school a girl I knew got in a pretty bad car wreck that screwed her up bad and in some ways permanently. she was told that if she had not worn the seatbelt it would not have been near as bad.

That may apply in a very small percentage of cases, but for the incredibly vast majority of crashes, seatbelts save lives. I know in my crash my seatbelt is the only thing that prevented me from breaking my neck on the roof of the car. So, it is safer to wear a seatbelt than not. Saying otherwise is like saying its safer not to get a vaccination because one in ten thousand have an adverse reaction.

No it's not. you can't just start throwing out random statistics like a daft twat. I don't care how you feel cause you are going to be bias since you believe whole heatedly that your life was saved by a seatbelt. let me tell you a little secret, not a whole lot of people who get in accidents end up flipping their vehicle. personally, I believe after 18 it should be an individuals choice whether or not to wear a seat belt. I shouldn't face a fine because I believe in facts and understand I am more likely to get in a fender bender then a full blown james bond car flipping 100 car pile up wreck.

Lets get a couple of hard facts in here. If you do not wear a seatbelt, you will get thrown around your car. If it is in a head on collision, and you are travelling at 30 mph, that is how fast you will hit the steering wheel. Thats like falling three stories. Your seatbelt actually stretches, thus absorbing a surprising amount of force. Your face hitting the steering wheel gets the full 30 mph impact. I think id rather a broken collar bone than a split skull. If you do flip, chances are, you will be thrown from the vehicle. If that happens you are around 25 times more likely to die. And here is some more facts. Ill link the site at the bottom.

Most drivers and passengers killed in crashes are unrestrained. 53% of drivers and passengers killed in car crashes in 2009 were not wearing restraints.

Seat belts dramatically reduce risk of death and serious injury. Among drivers and front-seat passengers, seat belts reduce the risk of death by 45%, and cut the risk of serious injury by 50%.

Seat belts prevent drivers and passengers from being ejected during a crash. People not wearing a seat belt are 30 times more likely to be ejected from a vehicle during a crash. More than 3 out of 4 people who are ejected during a crash die from their injuries.

Seat belts save thousands of lives each year, and increasing use would save thousands more. Seat belts saved almost 13,000 lives in 2009. If all drivers and passengers had worn seat belts that year, almost 4,000 more people would be alive today.

and you believe everything the government tells you? lmao. My point about individual responsibility still stands. let each individual adult decide for themselves without fear of punishment.

Side note, idk wtf you are talking about. my seatbelts have never absorbed ****. the have 3-5inches of give before an abrupt snap in the locking gear(brake). and steering wheels, I have one that I can feel bend in my hand not to mention the air bags. and lastly, where did you learn math? or are you assuming someone is going to hit a stationary object at 30mph, in which case I would say, why not let Darwinism take it's course?

HURR DURR THE GOVERNMENT IS LYING HURR DURR. <about how stupid you sound right there. Anyways, onto the other points. If you get in a crash with another car, and that crash is a headon collision, your car will cease almost all motion, unless it slides past, in which case it will have its motion retarded significantly. If you are not wearing a seatbelt, you will continue forward at the same speed you were traveling at. Pretty basic. Newtons law. An object in motion will remain in motion until another object (your steering wheel or windscreen) or force stops it. Or something to that effect. That steering wheel will **** your face or ribs up hugely. Picture a lightly padded baseball bat impacting on these spots. Not pretty. The seatbelt stops you short of losing your teeth or ribs on the steering wheel.

A "hurr durr" comment. you could at least try to make an effort. and thanks for explaining newtons 1st law to me (which I already knew). what I'm saying is a "Head on" collision I would hope means that two cars are hitting eachother, otherwise it is one person going 30 who hit something stationary and is a ******* moron. in the proper "head on" collision of two moving objects I would assume both are going the speed limit (30) making the collision equivalent to 60mph crash into a stationary object. The difference being I could not care less about the person hitting a stationary object at 30, and in most situation Darwinism should be allowed to proceed naturally.

****. seatbelt. laws. for adults.

I made the hurr durr comment to illustrate how stupid you sound with that super edgy "and you believe everything the government tells you" comment. So, pretty much what you are saying is, if you get in a head on crash, you deserve your injuries? Because its definitely your fault? And not the fault of some other drunken asshole on the road? Yeah. Makes sense. You seem to have forgotten a convincing argument for not wearing a seatbelt though. All youve done is say its safer without even trying to back it up beyond annecdotal evidence. **** son, you didnt even bring up a google search.
