Dogs

My friend' s dogs pick up t pillow every
time someone enters the house.

HUMAN YOU ARE HERE WOULD YOU LIKE A PILLOW
That..- actually seems like a really smart idea?
I bet you these dogs used to bark like crazy whenever someone
approached the door. Training an animal to stop doing something
is way harder than training an animal to start doing something
most of the time. So, solution, train the dogs to start doing
something like, say, picking up a pillow whenever someone
approaches the door. and as a side effect, they don' t bark at the
person because (a) they' re distracted searching for the pillow and
ta) it' s kind of hard to bark when you' re got a pillow in your mouth.
that' s seriously brilliant
My parents' dog has a whole crate of stuffed toys, and he picks one for
every visitor. The beagle toy is the default, but he will often dig through
the box trying to tint) the right toy. He often brings me the crocodile which
I bought tor him, or a large frog. He also has four pigs, and those are tor
special friends. Only family members are greeted with the biggest toy he
has, the Great Pig of Honour.
have never lowed dogs more than in this moment

trust me, they can learn stuff like that. I've had four years as vet assisting, and six in training dogs.

My dog always ran up to whoever just came through the door because he assumed everyone would naturally want to pet him and say he was a good boy. If a burglar ever broke in there would have been less opposition than France put up in 1940. He was also a massive derp but that's the way pugs are
User avatar #19 to #8 - adu (03/11/2015) [-]
I don't think a pug would be much of an obstacle for a robber either way. The biggest problem they bring is the noise.

thats a golden RETRIEVER they always do this my gfs grandpa has one too and he always brings a pillow without any training... it's in their blood =) or like wikipedia writes "Golden Retrievers were bred to retrieve, which has led to the soft mouth-grip it has today."

I have a labrador retriever, which is more or less the same thing, and we always joke by calling it a "guard dog". If burglars ever entered our house it would likely help them carry **** out if they petted him.

Same with the Golden, thankfully I also have a Englishbulldog/beagle mix that people think looks like a pit, so most people are a little afraid of him. He may be short but he is built like a brick wall

When my dog was a puppy she would get so excited when certain people came over that she would start peeing as soon as she saw them. It would only happen for a handful of people, so we always had to make sure she was outside before they got out of their cars. Eventually she was able to control herself though. Either that or she started liking them less, whichever.

I had to take my pup to the animal shelter. I've lost my job, my home, and my best friend. This post makes me miss him more.

I used to have a silky terrier named Batman. We've had him since 2007. He always picked up the soft toy football I got from my cousins. Whenever someone was at the door, and he could still bark while holding the football. He died November 2013.

I think that's a terrible idea. Dogs (in my mind) are a security system, among other things. I want my dog to bark when someone approaches my house. If someone walks up to my front porch at 2 in the morning, I don't want my dog looking for a pillow, I want him waking me up.
