So cute
why are dogs so protective of babies? I used to have a dog like then when i was a baby and it was really hard to spank me when i was young because she would nip at you
Because most of these dogs are untrained and so show the baby who the dominant one is.
None of this behaviour was actually trying to protect a baby, most of it was aggressively defending what it had claimed as property.
Dogs only empathize when they're submissive, when they're dominant they control.
Because dogs actually know when they see an infant, or a smaller baby.
And yes, they are empathetic like >>#4 said, think of them feeling guilty if they are with the families baby alone, they feel the need to protect, if not, guilt.
This is why dogs are awesome, because love is their main element in life, thats how we humans made them.
Dogs are empathetic creatures, so I can only assume that the dog sees something this small and helpless and tries to protect them. Especially when they sleep.
First one is domination.
Second is aggression.
Third is aggression.
Fourth is domination.
Fifth is actually submission/companionship
Sixth is aggression.
Seventh is submission.
Eighth is aggression.
Only 2 of those dogs should you actually want anywhere near your kids.
You've never dealt with a female animal, protecting its' young, have you? Their aggression is directed at pretty much everything that isn't the baby. They'd bite all your fingers off, but they'd never actually harm the kid.
