I'm playing New Vegas for the first time and the only companion I've used so far (and plan on using for the most part) is ED-E. I feel it still captures that feeling of loneliness because you pretty much have to impose a personality onto it, in a similar way Tom Hanks does with Wilson in Castaway.
Me too, gives you a better feeling of, **** i'm alone in this world.
I always loved exploring subways on my own in Fallout 3 because the atmosphere would change in an instant I remember being scared of ghouls the 1st time i met them
ya, first time i met ghouls in fallout 3 was when i stuck a grenade in his pocket at ten penny tower. then went into the subway to clear them out. Kinda freaked me out with them lumbering around.
In fallout 4 when i first saw them and thought oh neat they look really cool. Then they sprinted unnaturally fast and dived at me i almost **** my pants.
I always play a stealth sniping building. Companions always ruin it and make me detectable so easily.
The first time I met Ghouls was on my way to Diamond city, I passed by a small ruined town and suddenly I hear a noise from an ally, oh, okay, a ghoul just showed up, suddenly 3 more pop up from their holes and then there's like 7 running after me and I was like level 2 with 15 bullets left on my 10mm.
The way they lunge still makes me soil my undergarments sometimes.
