- gets a cut on his finger, goes to the hospital and they stitch him up and give him a tetanus shot
- charge him $10,000 for 10 stitches and one shot

and people wonder why i never go to a doctor if im seriously hurt or sick.

the cut is on my middle knuckle and index finger btw, if you can't really see it.

I cut my hand on a rusty license plate, and got 8 stitches, local anisthetic, and I didn't even get a tetanus shot. cost my parents $500. it's my right hand, ****** webcam, and I don't feel like taking the picture on my phone. the scars are blending a lot better now, they used to be a lot worse.

That's not a good thing, scars are cool.

exactly, my girlfriend normie, reeeeeee, etc... and those of the past like to rub the scars for some reason, during cuddling and **** . the one on my finger used to be raised about 1-1.5 cm for about 2 years before the scar tissue under it started to go away

I a german person cut my hand trying to open a wine bottle with a shoe in Greece and they just stitched me up and send me back to my hotel without charging anything. European health care is ******* great!

yeah i dont understand the hate. i'd rather pay some extra taxes than worry im going to die from a very preventable illness or an injury thats easily fixed because i cant afford to get help.
#14 to #13 - boomerpyro (09/22/2015) [-]
so what if i have to buy one less soda or make my own sandwiches, free healthcare is a pretty good trade.
now if only i could do that with the dentist as well
#17 to #14 - anon (09/22/2015) [-]
You can have dentistry for free on the NHS in the UK, although private ones may be better and as long as your teeth are healthy dont cost too much if only go 1/2 times are year (i pay about £10 a visit to my dentist)
#21 to #17 - boomerpyro (09/22/2015) [-]
would cost 1177 pounds for dental braces in norway
User avatar #15 to #14 - hemomagus (09/22/2015) [-]
imo dentists have a vested intrest in ******* up your teeth. never trust a dentist.

Honestly I have a better chance of properly diagnosing myself with web MD than getting a doctor to do it lately. Most doctors are downright retarded. 1 in 10 might know what they're doing...

Exhibit A:
10 years ago my family doctor diagnosed me with a flesh eating virus in my throat. 4 other doctors confirmed this. I was told that by the time I was 35 I'd have to get my heart and lungs checked out every six months to make sure the virus isn't destroying them and I likely wouldn't make it to 50. 3 months ago, after a lot of xrays, blood tests, and other various procedures I asked to have done as the pain was becoming more and more frequent, it was determined that I am suffering from severe anxiety pains and am otherwise in perfect health. I wonder what I could have possibly been so stressed out about.

Exhibit B:
For the last 3 years my dad has had harsh pains in his abdomen. He saw 8 doctors, all of which told him they couldn't find what was wrong and 3 who went as far as saying he was making up the pain. Well one night last October, my dad was in such excruciating pain that he went straight to the ER where a doctor found a large amount of fluid in his abdomen. The doc assumed it was his bladder so he stuck a catheter in him and sent him home. Well my dad got home and settled into bed when suddenly even more pain erupted in his abdomen. Since the catheter was the new variable my dad decided it was the new source of pain and pulled it out, learning the painful way that there is a balloon the size of a ping pong ball that holds the catheter in place. Well he went back to the hospital and a new doctor (1 in 10) figured out he had pseudomyxoma, an exceptionally rare and dangerous cancer that causes the appendix to spurt out cancerous proteins into the abdomen and cause painful distention. Unfortunately now he cannot be cured and he will die from this. If any of the 8 doctors prior to his ER visit had caught it he probably could have been cured, but their sheer arrogance and lack of knowledge condemned him.

Can't you sue them for the **** in B? I mean it's their job to diagnose and a patient will die because they are retarded.

"I wonder what I could have possibly been so stressed about"
Probably that flesh eating ******* zombie virus in your throat, dude.

Much less I won't make the appointments, rather the problem is finding someone to take the time to get me there, since I'm off the insurance now. Currently I've got lymph nodes swollen in my neck going on a few months now and my family just assures me it'll go down on it's own, yet it hasn't. I'm sooper worried, doods.

Well, if its any consolation, you wont be missed.

You know what could make lymph nodes swell? Cancer.

Can't relate, got that sweet sweet universal healthcare.
User avatar #3 to #2 - oblesidonika (09/22/2015) [-]
I'm pretty sure avoiding going to the doctor isn't about having to pay a copay, just about being lazy.
#4 to #3 - christhechris ONLINE (09/22/2015) [-]
still can't relate.
something hurts I get it checked out
#11 - anon (09/22/2015) [-]
Remember how every single country besides a couple gives free health and dental care? NOT THE COUNTRY OF THE "FREE"!
User avatar #8 - liesbetold (09/22/2015) [-]
Cant afford to not get **** checked out. I get injured, I miss work and I cant afford that. Id rather be off for maybe a day or two than a few weeks.
