Knights of the Old Republic was my **** , taught me the colors & meanings of all light sabers. Anyone else? Nice chart animation & representation, well done.
For Kotor the save folder should be Steamapps/common/swkotor/saves
Is it a fresh install or have you had it installed? Because Kotor doesn't cloud save like some other games on steam
I remember my top-tier gear. I had a really powerful robe that you find on the ship at the very end and two OP crystals in my lightsabers that cost me a **** load of money.
Yeah Riven's old robe. I think you can find a light side version? I usually went dark side. You needed to pretty much save up all your computer spikes for that one terminal, unless you brought your robot bro with you on that mission, but he kinda sucked compared to the other jedi.
Dude that game was the best. I remember playing it for the first time and when I found the girl who stowed away on my ship I was able to tell her to **** off over and over to get infinite dark side points.
I should say that I have rarely been so surprised by a plot twist or so awed. That game was the definition of what an RPG should be like.
he comes back, then he finally dies on yavin iv after amassing an army to take out the sith emperor, who was using him to bring himself back into a physical form, which he succeeds at.
personally i perfer kotor 2 more, but might be because i played it first. its a real gem, although there is quite a lot of cut content but mods can fix that.
Also red wasn't strictly a Sith-exclusive color; before Darth Revan and Darth Malak's followers started using it, red was a pretty normal color. Also not all Sith used red. Some used other colors like blue or green for various reasons, like hiding their alignment and because they just liked the color or some **** .
A little bit to know about it is that it originally belonged to the jedi order, but during the fall of the old republic, the mandalorians made off with it and held on to it, passing it by generations. Eventually a mandalore by the name of Pre Vizsla received it and used it as the leader of a group called the Death Watch during the Clone Wars, but Darth Maul killed him and claimed it and the leadership of the Death Watch.
also a mandalorian fought obiwan using one that had been stolen from the jedi thousands of years ago in an episode of clone wars. the animation on it was really cool
shabadaka is correct. but heres some more info
the "hum" when swung thro the air by a lightsaber is more of a higher pitched "whir" of sorts not unlike the vibroblades. The darksaber is also rather short. where as a lightsabers length is variable and can be as short as the darksaber or as long as a person is tall. the darksaber appears to be fixed length.
using the darksaber maul and his "brother" savage (pronounced savahj, i kno wierd) fought equally(at first) with a fully realized sidious. pre-damage from windu's onslaught. arguably the most powerful version of sideous ever shown in the series. although sideous killed savage and left maul a broken defeated lump of meat the dark saber surprized sideous for some reason.
Been a while since I've seen any Star Wars movies, but to me it seems that the intent was to point out the hypocrisy of the Jedi Order, and to distance them from the black and white reputation that the stories have.
before this anakin deduced that since obi wan isnt with him he must be againts him. he doesnt understand neutrality. something the jedis do understand (as shown even in the prequels)
I think it was supposed to be written or at least interpreted as "Only a Sith Lord deals in such absolutes", in response to Anakin's line "If you're not with me, you're against me", suggesting not that absolutes in general were Sith-exclusive (the whole damn Jedi philosophy is a big ass pile of absolutes), but that the ones Anakin was spouting belonged only to a Sith. I remember reading an old rumor that this was the original line and Ewan McGregor actually fudged it, but the only online resource that holds the script seems to show otherwise; www.imsdb.com/scripts/Star-Wars-Revenge-of-the-Sith.html
But George Lucas doesn't seem to have a full understanding of the concepts of "proof-reading" and "scene retakes", so we ended up with... this.
Careful what you wish for
"At this moment Yoda turned, and Dooku gasped. Whether it was the play of the holomonitors, beaming their views of bleak space and distant battles, or some other trick of the light, Yoda's face was deeply hidden in the shadows, mottled black and blue, so that for one terrible instant he looked exactly like Darth Sidious. Or rather, it was Yoda as he might have been, or could yet become: a Yoda gone rotten, a Yoda whose awesome powers had been utterly unleashed by his connection to the dark side. In a flash Dooku saw how foolish he had been, trying to urge the old Master to the dark side. If Yoda ever turned that way, Sidious himself would be annihilated. The universe had yet to comprehend the kind of evil that a Jedi Knight of nearly nine hundred years could wield."
I know this would destroy a character in a Game of Thrones-esque way, but it would be so cool if there was a little scene in one of the new star wars (possibly a flashback, or vision from a character) where Yoda actually turned to the dark side and how powerful he would be.
And now the sad truth.
Lukes lightsabers color (green) in return of the jedi was green because
...

the creators chose it would do a nice contrast to the tatoine desert scenes.
the original lightsaber colors were just an artistic statement to tell the good guy apart from the bad guy by using primary colors: red vs. blue
That's true but these meanings were given to the colours after the fact and done so based on those who wielded them and there characteristics. Just because the origin and truth is less romantic doesn't mean the new information is inaccurate.

Bravery, moral balance, will to fight and succeed, rational decision, independence, aggression as the standby response, strong will and focus on the task at hand. Comes off as more aggressive than most, but in truth my actions are direct and honest.
Peace is a lie, there is only passion
Through passion, I gain strength
Through strength, I gain power
Through power, I gain victory
Through victory, my chains are broken
The force shall free me
1) The movies themselves don't state this kind of ideology in the slightest - they were developed by the EU writers/fans
2) You're still failing to see the obvious - pure evil or pure good almost never make an actual interesting or even relatable mindset or characters, the best/more mature and more realistic take is the balanced approach, i.e. Kyle Katarn (if we're sticking to the Star Wars lore)
so, would you have called me edgy if I stated the jedi creed? you're edgy for stating you preferred the grey jedi creed over either one. a lesser known one at that. you have to be the underground 'i liked it before it was mainstream' fag how's that for ya?
There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force
red also calls bs?
red also has an alignment?
red is aligned to an extreme dedication to yourself and personal gain?
red is also said to be able to "break" a lightsaber blade?
The only colors they come in are blue, green, white, and red. Everything else is fanfiction tier ******** that started because Jackson demanded a special snowflake lightsaber just for himself.
No, well, the orders have standard issue lightsabers. When you train as a Jedi for a very very long time, you can eventually specialise into either Jedi Sentinel, Jedi Guardian or Jedi Consular. Jedi Consulars focused on knowledge, Jedi Guardians focused on defense and Jedi Sentinels were somewhere in the middle. Each branch had specalised training, so each branch had slightly different techniques and use of the force.
Outside of these standard issue sabers, which are made with synthetic crystals, a few 'true sabers' exist made from natural crystals. Like that purple one. They're more powerful than a synthetic crystal, if wielded correctly.
saber colors, though certain sects had their preferred colors, were highly preferential with the only exception of jedi wielding red (since red was a synthesized crystal and the jedi seen this as unpure/unnatural and thus didn't/rarely had a red saber) now, this doesn't mean a sith couldn't use a blue or green and a jedi use white or even red.
I wonder how long we'll have to be listening to this "lightsaber meaning" ******** . The EU is dead, people, get used to it, in the EU they gave half a dozen different explanations for lightsaber color choice and whatnot, all contradicting one another, so citing one and calling it fact is stupid anyway. It was stated in a book which is ACTUAL CANON (Tarkin, I didn't like it personally, thought it was boring and the story was simultaneously uninteresting and unsatisfying, but some would disagree) that lightsaber color has no relevance to anything other than the jedi's taste. Only dark side users use red, no jedi have ever used red unless they had picked up a sith's saber out of desperation. So can we cool it with this Buzzfeed-esque ******** ? Lighstaber colors mean as little as the color of your shoes, it doesn't say dick about your personality. while we're at it this"grey jedi" malarkey also has no mention in canon, so if we could stop it with that that would be good
Dark saber doesent exist. It was only in an episode of Clone wars and that **** is far from Cannon in most cases. Also, it was a vibroblade, not a saber.
the darksaber does exist. The Clone Wars is part of official canon (Along with the movies, the new books, games, comics, etc) according to the lucasfilm story group (Who determines what is or isn't canon), regardless of what you wish to believe. And no, the darksaber was not a vibroblade, this is a vibroblade.
Clone wars is trash. So a character who shouldn't exist, Gets an edgy blade that produces Black Plasma. Which, I should tell you, black is the absence of light, so that's impossible. And then is allowed to run away so he can be seen again at some point. NOT to mention the 'Black Lighsaber' was shaped like a kanata, Last time I checked you can't shaper a lightsaber, but what can your easily Shape and Modify Color? Oh right, A Vibroblade.
So, Evidence inside cannon and in science both side with the ' ********* on this one. But OK, keep on believing that this is cannons. OH, and while your at it, you can call this new movie Cannon as well. Which means the Entire EU is Uncannon to you. But I guess to you that's ok. Because it means a Black Lightsaber held by an Edglord is cannon.
Also, If it was a vibroblade, the darksaber wouldn't have to be turned on and off like a lightsaber does. The blade would stay on regardless of whether or not you pressed a button. It would be like a sword, a fixed blade. like the vibrosword in the picture above.
OH 'nother big contradiction, in the media that was made before attack of the clones, everyone, the writers of star wars media, thought the clone wars was a war between the republic and clones.
Like I said, It is canon. You can keep believing it's not, but just know that you're completely and utterly wrong about everything you just said, and there's nothing you can do to change that.
And yes, the entire old EU is non canon to me and I accept that. You know why?
It's because I'm not a salty little bitch. I've stood by star wars for the past twenty or so years I've been alive, and I'll stand by it for another twenty years or more.
Furthermore, the old EU had a **** ton of contradictions, off the top of my head: the A wing fighters appeared earlier than they were actually put into service (these were retconned into R-22 spearhead fighters), vergere suddenly becoming evil despite not being evil beforehand, boba fett was supposed to have commanded separatist mandalorians during the clone wars despite being like 10-13 during the clone wars (Retconned by spar, i think), there's a ton more, if you want me to actually look them up and post them here.
