but if you want to manipulate the audience to believe something isn't staged, you film vertically. It makes things look more human. Source: Advertisement
I do not understand why phones even allow this **** .
There are lots of games on phones that display horizontally even if you are holding the phone vertically, why not make the camera work the same way?
Phones are vertical
It's easier to hold them vertically with one hand
Most vertical videos are vines which are meant to be viewed on a phone
People are filming vines and random ass videos, not movies for your TV
Also you hold your phone vertically in most cases because thats how they are meant to be used, the only time you would need to flip it is if you were playing a game or watching a movie
You do realize that video is captured by a physical device within the phone that receives a rectangular shaped feed. To make it do what you are suggesting, it would have to mechanically rotate to compensate for how you are holding the phone.
No it wouldn't.
What I am saying is to record the video the same way and display the camera controls on screen the same way regardless of how the phone is being held, nothing would be rotated. You hold the phone vertically and then when you go to play it back, your video will be sideways and it will be ruined and you will know you are a dumb ass and learn your lesson and stop recording that way instead of uploading trash all over the internet unless you go out of your way to find software to rotate the video manually, but I'm pretty sure they will be too lazy to do that. The problem solves itself and it actually takes less code to do it that way.
