I used to play 40k. Games were usually held at my house with one friend played Tyranids and another played Orks which required me to have an ass load of small D6. Half of them were red, a quarter were red and another quarter were black. Ironically the black ones always got friggin sweet rolls wheres the white ones hardly ever worked. Also one of my direction dice would constantly send projectiles in the worst possible direction.

DnD story where the dice failed me

>was a badass Dwarf Warrior
>in a party with a halfling hunter, a bear warlock with a scythe, a vamp, undead hobbit minion to the vamp, and a drow warden
>Reach giant random hole
>When I tried to look down said hole got picked up by dragon who was trapped their (end of DM custom dungeon)
>Epic OP vamp comes to rescue
>Failed
>DM gives me chance to escape grasp
>Roll 5
>I escape the dragons grasp but I lose a leg
>After 6 turns die cause of blood loss (no real person with healing skill)

few months after
>New game but quest makes go into DM custom dungeon
>This time an half elf Bard
>When we reach the hole we find a skeleton of a dwarf figure without a leg
>I take the other leg as a reminder of the dice that failed me

**bluwizard rolled image** My d20 charges up luck slowly, then releases it in a torrent at random times.

Most of my rolls with melee weapons have me hitting myself, hitting my teammates, or throwing it (generally impaling my teammates). Then all of a sudden, I'll roll 16-20's for an entire session.

My two d10's love me, my DM has us roll for loot/gold after battles and I've been comming out with top tier **** . unfortunately most of it is then used to destroy my allies. My DM calls me his greatest instrument against the party.

So I play casters as much as possible and use conjuration/ necromancy etc to avoid rolling as much as possible.

Had to roll anything under an 80 for a heal. Rolled a 94. Proceeded to nearly kill another player after deciding they were dead and it was my duty to harvest their organs for future use.

I've never played DnD or any tabletop game. I feel like I'd enjoy it immensely though.

Just need to get some friends first.

Post like these make me want to play D&D but I have no idea how to. Nor have any friends into it. Frowny Face.

Have you ever played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic? It's a starwars RPG, and in my opinion is the BEST DAMN STAR WARS GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED. available on steam It's even better than I can't believe I'm saying this Republic Commando.
It uses the classic 3.5 system. Behind the scenes dice rolls and everything. This is how I learned to play DnD.

Goddammit, I really gotta find me a group for this **** . Can anyone tell me of a website or something where I can play? And speaking of which, is Roll 20 any good, or is it as ********* as /tg/ says it is?

Once, while playing D&D Elder Scrolls edition, my friend's brother had absolutely no skill in fighting, and instead made his character completely filled out in speech and persuasion.

His name is Ragnar, the Used Mount Salesman.

>Like in any Elder Scrolls quest, start in prison.
>Commence rolls for who goes first.
>Ragnar goes last.
>We wait because we're in prison and we have no way to get out.
>Ragnar to the rescue.
>Ragnar wants to roll to convince the Guard that he's the Emperor.
>DM Didn't really want to go through with it, but he said that if Ragnar rolled perfectly, he'd succeed.
>Perfect roll.

Got out of prison because a Used Mount Salesman (That looks like a ratty fat guy) convinced the guard that he was the Emperor. He also did it to several others!

Fairly new to the whole D&D shebang, so I don't have a whole lot to tell yet. The things worth telling right now is how our Sorcerer managed to completely obliterate the inn we met in in our first ever combat, the fact that one of the goblins in said first combat had the most beautiful jumps any of us had ever seen, and how our Sorcerer became our groups undisputed hero after bodily throwing our unconscious Monk out of the tentacles of a beast from beyond the veil before successfully banishing it.

Good **** , looking much forward to what we're gonna do next.

We weren't playing D&D because my friend's a beginner and doesn't understand a lot of what goes into it but my friend is notoriously bad at rolling. He once somehow got every single party member but one killed and I had to work in a wizard bringing them back to life to finish the quest.
