****** this is literally the whole point of Islam. It's "look guys Jesus was a great dude but you wrote it all down wrong, here's how it really goes". This isn't "lol Mohammad wasn't the first Muslim" it's "God is infallible, he does not get things wrong, humans do, ergo the way we explain this new religion based on an old one is that humans were at fault and misrecorded it".

Well yeah. According to Islam, Jesus is essentially to all intents and purposes along the same lines as Mohammed for the Jews, it's just people went a bit over the top after his death and started saying things like he was God's son. He's considered pretty damn highly, being the only prophet able to perform miracles IIRC.

No. They aren't brainwashing anyone. The whole point of Islam is that it is the real deal, that it's the exact same instructions God's been giving people since the beginning. The only difference is that this time it was actually properly recorded.

Well then you've got a problem with all religion.

The thing Islam's saying is "this is God's message, and the reason you're hearing it from some random Arabian warlord is because you've actually heard it from many other reputable sources, it's just that humans ****** up". It's pretty normal practice, really -- think about Christianity saying that Jesus Christ is the prophesied son of God despite all of Judaism disagreeing with them.

Yeah, that's my point basically. All religion is brainwashing. It's not Gods message, it's just about controlling people. I can see the merit of this in ancient times, but now it's just so out of place.

When you think about it, The Prophet Muhammad was the greatest con man in History.


He was a Warlord who got jealous that a nearby religion was gathering up all their riches and trading every..month or so i think the story goes, so he amassed an army, but his forces were always too afraid to fight the other army because they had a far larger army, so he made up this lie about how "God told him that they'd win and he knows anyone who dies gets (X) Amount of virgins as a reward for their deeds."

So he plundered all the nearby kingdoms as a "Holy man" to his followers just by telling them they'd get a reward at the end of their holy 'mission'

I mean, Jesus christ. Sure, if they wanna believe that a few hundred years ago, but people are STILL following this same con? At least spice it up a bit, add a few whores into the mix.

Family Guy got it right. Same time, same place, but dark ages didn't happen, everyone got along more or less, and the world is full of awesome.

Pretty sure.

Aethiests believe that there is no god.

I simply don't give a **** if there is or is not a god.

Agnostic may be closer, I do know that religion did nothing good for anyone in the long run.

It may give someone peace of mind, knowing that they'll go to 'heaven', but if you have to slaughter thousands of 'nonbelievers' to do it, you're a piece of **** in my eyes regardless.

it has nothing to do with religion, its humanity on its own. humanity will always have wars a group of people will always want something from another group. sooner or later they will turn to drastic measure to take it, with religion you just have a good excuse to do so. the middlea east wasn't all that unstable before american intervention in the region and the creation of the state of israel.

we talk a lot of **** that would never happen to us because were white and civilised, but if what happend to iraq and syria happen to france and germany, and israel got created in the balkans taking land, europe would be one huge warzone
