I've found that the best way to fight my depression is to just stay in bed until it goes away. Reading a book or playing a handheld game helps. It's better to lay there for a couple days and feel miserable and worthless than to be out and about and do something that I'll later regret later on. The last time I really got hit hard by depression, I destroyed a framed drawing that my dad made for my grandfather because it was drawn by my dad, who's an asshole. But it was a terrible decision and I thoroughly regret it because it was a piece of my childhood, and I used to admire it with my grandpa when I was young.
