It is quite simple really. The Idea is that if the government uses money to get them through school they will get jobs and contribute back to society, instead of being unemployed and collecting welfare.

That sounds like such a good idea.

Right now I'm a college student who has little motivation/energy to study because I have to work nights to barely afford tuition and graduating with a college degree is no longer a guarantee of higher wages after school.

The US takes money from it's citizens and continue to raise their debt.
And some other countries gives away money to it's citizens and they do just fine.

Someone educate the US government on how to do their damn job.

Heres a thought. universities pay the students a majority of their tuition back for good grades, example- 4.0 GPA-USA= 90% tuition return, and not a credit to their bank account, i mean cash in hand. i think it would help motivate them to study even more, however the schools would need to draw more money from the government.
#172 to #164 - amuzen (10/04/2013) [-]
then schools would start giving students worse grades for stupid things in order to make more money, administration might even lay down a minimum number of students that could be given A's.

If you are 18+ of course.
About 1.200 kr per month or so, depending on how you live. If you live alone and away from your parents, you get more. If you live alone, it's approximately 1.200.

I've often considered moving to denmark if I had the money.

Someone should tell me what does it take to get a citizenship there?

Danefag here to clear things up since my fellow retarded countrymen in their attempt to be superior has told you a ******** of untrue stuff, so lets get started:

The highest amount you can get paid for studying is 5,733 DKK, and lowest is ca. 1.200 DKK - look it up on a currency exchange site to see the figures in other currencies.

Someone said a PS3 is 6,000 DKK which is the most retarded thing so far though:
A PS3 when launched went for about 3,200 DKK and now it's below 2,000 and dropping.

Salaries in Denmark is generally higher than other countries, but do we benefit from this? Yes and no. Income taxation caps at 64 % although other taxes exist aswell - a 25 % VAT, vehicle registration which in some cases triples the price of the car from it's original value. Furthermore theres company taxes, real estate taxes and all the other kind of taxes, other countries has aswell - in our case the taxation level is simply higher.

These money go to the state which in turn breastfeeds the vast numbers of incompetent immigrants and lazy good-for-nothing danes with wellfare checks sometimes exceeding 21,000 for certain citizens. And then you gotta add child support from the state aswell, if this scum has been allowed to breed.

I never proclaim my nationality on FJ because frankly it's irrelevant and unfunny for the most part. Also, for some reason Danes on FJ are the most annoying usergroup stating these ******** facts that are often no more than myths or simply just stupid.

TLR: dont trust whatever 'facts' you read from Danes on FJ because they're mostly wrong. sincerely a Dane

If you're smart and motivated enough, you could get enough scholarships to completely pay off your schooling. The opportunity is there, you can't ask life to treat everyone equally
