Some people don't get it.

Many hobbies need more money than a lot of us have.

Rain can stop others.

So can injury.

Any number of things, really.

But the single player game, it's pretty much always there. It's you and the game. It's the story you get to be the big part of.

You get to be the Hero, or the Villain, or the Martyr.
But it's you.

And when you complete the story, it's amazing.

We aren't sad because we play video games. We play video games because we were sad.

So, anyone reading this who has ever called someone a loser, or a fag, or anything else because they play lot's of games, I want you to remember something.

You're part of the reason we do this.

Now, go away, and let us live a better life for a while.

I get the feeling this is why a lot of people become gamers in the first place. Just thinking about the surge of gamers that just happens to occur during a time when kids are experiencing parenting styles ranging from tiger moms to helicopter parenting to downright neglectful parenting over the years is making me depressed.

I had great parents growing up, and I still do. But I was bullied severely in school. The typical being beat up on and pushed into lockers kind. I turned to video games as a way to escape reality for a while. Yeah, video games made me feel pretty good. They continue to do so to this very day.

i wasn't the best in school... i wasn't the most popular or the most athletic, like most people i just existed, i had a few friends but it seemed like after a year i had to get new ones. the whole time i was caught up in day dreaming and reading, i had an entire fantasy world with really in depth characters and beautiful scenery, and moments of heroism, and moments of loss. i fought with my parents alot and was alone most of the time, so i guess it was my escape.

i guess that's why i had my main character be everything good and bad about the world. if you don't want to read this, that's alright i'll understand but if you do the main character in every story i made in my head was one person, but 2 at the same time. an angel (Leo) who took in death (grim reaper, called him lucifer) to save him from dying. and by take in a mean he absorbed his soul into his own. he was the highest good and the lowest evil, he wasn't a hero or a villain, he didn't listen to anyone, he just did what he thought was right.

alot of it coincided with my daily life. like when i lost my best friend/grandfather i had dreams for weeks about a war where he was fighting to stop evil of course (my grandfather was battling cancer at this time) and then the battle subsided.... there was nothing but dust and despair (my grandfather had passed) and then Leo went back to a village he was staying at to meet a 7 year old girl Lucifer had befriended, which obviously isn't typical for death. but the village had been raided and the girl had been killed. the next few days i kept waking up covered in sweat because my dreams were full of anger, lucifer killing thousands to avenge the little girl, but in the end it didn't bring her back. i guess it was my way of coping with things.

anyway i didn't mean to go on this long, if you made it this far thanks for listening, you all have made me laugh and have an easier time in life

I think a better title for this would have been the birth of a gamer.

Is this supposed to make me feel?
I don't understand it.

what I see.
1) Kid bad at football and nobody wants him on the team (clothes are dirty, a game has been played)
2) Kid drawing rockets and not paying attention in class, teacher angry.
3) Kid destroying clock and parents are mad. It's stuff they must have bought and not his to demolish.
4) Playing a game and is happy for getting praise.

Is the moral supposed to be give praise whether it's being bad at sports, not paying attention and destroying household items?

Please help, I seriously don't understand what the message is trying to be and why I am supposed to 'feel'

Same with the internet.

School: "Nothing's wrong with the system. You're just stupid, worthless and will never amount to anything in life."
Parents: "You should spend every waking moment studying. You're lazy, worthless and will never amount to anything in life."
Classmates: "What? You can't afford to pay 150$ for a single night out? You're poor, worthless and will never amount to anything in life."
Media: "You're miserable, fat, ugly and worthless. Buy this hunk of crap for 49.99$ to be just fat, ugly and worthless."
Internet: "Sup, ****** . Wanna look at reposts and crack bad jokes?"

The best things in life are the things that actually distract you from it. Ain't the world we live in just grand?

Do y'all really need encouragement to really make yourselves feel better? Probably need to invest in more self-confidence.
